Wedding at Hotel Esencia. Special thanks to Philip, Fidel, Robert, Chef Bernardo, and and the entire Esencia crew for making this night happen!
I keep saying this more and more lately, I feel honestly blessed to chase my dream job coupled by being able to shoot in one of the most amazing locations on this planet. Esencia is a dream for me, as I have told you over and over in past correspondence, I am very connected with the location as they treat me like family.... truly, a home away from home for me!
I really wanted to take the time to talk about this amazing location. When I first contacted Michelle, I was super stoked to hear about their big day and when they told me they would have 19 KIDS....wow, really? Most of my destination weddings are kid free, sadly enough. Nope, Michelle and Gene were all about bringing together family and friends, regardless of their age which unfortunately is not the destination wedding norm. So I just have to say THANK you again, for giving me another outstanding opportunity to shoot kids being kids!
Special thanks to Euforia Events!

This angle for a first kiss always is scary for me to try... I love what happens when the b&g are announced so there is always the potential to miss that moment...
Esenica provided a quick Mayan Blessing Ceremony just following the ceremony, was a total surprise to Michelle + Gene...
I really love this detail image. Amazing Candles by our friends at
Artevelas.
If you look closely, thats a rainbow off in the distance, just above the alter.
That bird and I were communicating on the same wavelength!
This is a fun reception detail image, the staff at Esencia serving up some Conchinita!
How cute is this?
On one of our pre wedding phone consults, Michelle + Gene talked about the connection Esencia's chef and the amazing dishes that they were presented with prior to their wedding. They asked me if I could go to the kitchen and snap a few frames of the staff making the dinner plates happen... so, here ya go amigos!

Saludos! TEQUILA (on of my favorite drinks is the Bandera. Bandera is the Spanish word for Flag. The drink consists of 3 glasses. The color of the liquids inthe glasses represent the Mexican Flag colors, Red, White and Green. One with Tomate Juice, one with Lime, and one with the mexican nector of the earth, Tequila. I would like to recommend
Clase Azul Tequila to those tequila drinking ameatures.
Love the staff in motion here!
A little camera shutter dragging technique with off camera flash.
I couldn't resist this one...
More work from the amazing

Dear Del Sol,
We are speechless, overwhelmed and completely delighted with the story of our wedding you've recreated through these incredible images.
These photos are quite honestly the BEST wedding photos we have even seen or could have anticipated or hoped for! I know I have looked at them on average 5 times a day since you've sent. I actually started to cry when I watched the the slideshow for the first time.
We are so excited to see the rest and know they will be incredible.
