Small town Minnesota girl meets big city New Yorker.
Faz and I first met back in the summer of 2005. He was doing an orthopedic surgery residency at the hospital where I worked as an ICU nurse. We were out for dinner with a mutual friend when we first met. We had an instant connection. I was so intrigued by him – he was charismatic, handsome, and extremely intelligent. However, at the end of the night, we went our separate ways. I actually thought his name was ‘Fazo,’ which we still laugh about to this day! Almost 1 year later, we met again at a party. Immediately after recognizing one another, we remembered our connection the year prior. He drove me home that night and we talked and laughed in his car for nearly 4 hours! It was one of the best nights of both of our lives. We began dating shortly after. In 2009, Faz was going to be moving back to NYC to continue his training in orthopedics. I was in graduate school for anesthesia in MN. We were at a point in our relationship where we needed to decide on the next step. While on vacation in the Dominican Republic, Faz proposed on the beach. It was so romantic and beautiful that we decided at that moment that the beach is where we wanted to get married. So here we are in Mexico! Beautiful love story, Excellence Riviera Cancun as a backdrop and del Sol to capture the magic :)
