This was a very unique session as we had the opportunity to shoot at Le Reve hotel before headed to the cenote, this gave us opportunity to shoot some dynamic imagery and have even more fun! Le Reve LOVED the images most of the photos on their website are Del Sol :)

Being married with an american comes with the advantage of having a second home :) Matt and I love traveling and enjoying new places, but for this summer and after our super busy season from January - July we needed a break to relax, and there's no better place than home!.. specially when it's in such a gorgeous place.

Lake Martin is a 44,000 acres man made lake that sits on the foot hills of the apalache mountains, is a pretty quiet place most of the time and we love it!

Matt's parents live here so it's the perfect place to enjoy them too.

We have been here almost all Augost, with the exception of last weekend when we traveled to Beauford South Carolina to cover a wedding.

We claim the underwater shot as well as the fishing shack.

Here's another couple venturing with Del Sol on a trash the dress underwater adventure. Its interesting to hear from our couples how harder than it looks its to get this photos done.

I wonder why...

We have literally to walk in the jungle, climb down muddy slippery ladders to get to the caves., usually walk in muddy sinking bat poo while the mosquitous are eating us alive..., and this is only the starting point of the adventure.. haha...

Photo by Matt Adcock: The cosmic ceremony: The ceremony is based in the Maya's connection with the universe. Lots of other details, but this is the short side of it. Nothing short of amazing for photographers :) The ceremony brings the couple to the four cardinal points (north, south, east and west) to unite them to the feminine Mother Earth and the masculine Cosmic Energy, symbolized by a central sacred candle.

Photo by Rodrigo: TandT had a handful of successful celebrities attending your wedding. Big challenge...celebrities DO NOT like being chased by the paparazzi. The challenge became to be unobtrusive, make a photo of them that would not cause alarm or even let them know what was happening. I hope Anna Kendrick sees this photo.

Photo by Matt Acock: We have about a TON of moments of TandT kissing...but this one stands out to me. Something about the energy in this photo... movement is captured with the flying droplets...fower petals on their heads, the expressions of the Matron and Best Amigo....and most of all, Terence's hand embracing Tal and the look on her face There is power in this moment. A photo of two people kissing is something that we see ALOT...but how about the moment just before...energy filled, the anticipation of what is about to come speaks a thousand words here... I love this! I really connect with this moment.

Photo By Matt Adcock: I love this one, just as much as I can possibly love a photograph. Not only is it Terence's mom, everybody is expressing RAW emotion. I'd say one of my tip top favorites (Id enter this in a photojournalism contest)!

Photo by Matt Adcock: Who exits their ceremony to a band of mariachis playing the Rocky theme song??? Tal and Terence do!!! Its difficult to communicate this and I made a choice as a photographer... I literally sprinted to run behind the band originally thinking they would keep walking, but they stopped and turned around, with this expressive moment. This lasted only a few seconds for me and in the middle of my full stride and placement, this is what we ended up with. I think I got lucky with them out in front, arms extended. This photo is delicately layered with... mariachis, T+T, wedding party, ocean...i'm pretty happy with this snap.

Photo by Matt Adcock: I really love this one, technically this was difficult to light. Often as a photojournalist, we are challenged to make a portrait appear from a candid, real live moment. This is an example of me making something with my backlighting (thats melissa holding the flash in the background) to make this moment.... I loved their speeches...

Everytime I post a cenote underwater trash the dress I always think is the best we have done... it seems that we keep getting amazing couples and our techique gets better and better.. Mr. Aquaman is developing gills and I think I'm growing a mermaid tail.. haha.. :)

This is the testimonial we got from Rashan + Aric after they received the slideshow from this session:

WOW...WOW...WOW...is all I have to say...Thank you SOOO much for sending us the pictures on Friday. It really made our entire weekend and we stayed up till 2 am as we must of replayed it atleast 4 dozen times. We also watched it on Saturday, Sunday and today..WE just can't get enough..i started writing down which my favorites were when i realized they were all my favorites.

The reaction we got from our friends and family were amazing, they all want to go to mexico and take pics..possibly family portraits underwater..lol!! All the friends that we emailed didn't email back ...but called immediately and they were in love with the pics...i think we may have inspired more people to get married in mexico..and take the same pics...

Anywayz, we are so excited to see the rest of them, if they're anything like this they will also blow us away.

I love unique weddings!! and Cecilia +Enrique had a wonderful emotive celebration. They meet at the Akumal bay, therefore they decided they should get married there., in a beautiful ceremony that was conducted by lots of their close friends and family who said a few words for them., this was a very different ceremony, straight from the heart and so meaningful! I loved everything about it, specially the final words: "By the power invested in me from the turtles in Akumal, I pronounce you man and wife" :)

What do you feel when you arrive at a wedding location and all you see is beauty??

Christine and Anthony flew all the way from Canada to get married at Tulum, they choose La Zebra, this is my first wedding here, and I am coming back in a few weeks how cool!!!

I had to add that the fabulous wedding planner Marion and Gwen from Destination Weddings Tulum made sure we had a delicious dinner.. that is always a super bonus! Thanks girls!!

NO, WE ARE NOT having fun!!!...

When I started my wedding photographer career I used to live in Cancun, and going to Isla Mujeres was very usual, I have photographed countless weddings and honeymooners there, I looove it!

Now that we are based out of Playa del Carmen, going to Isla is quite and adventure, a +1 hr drive to Puerto Cancun, then a Ferry to the Island., then a taxi to the hotel..

Rob and Debra choose Villa Rolandi as wedding location, its such a intimate resort with beautiful views of the caribbean waters.

The day was windy, and Rob's hair is long, that made for playful photos!. He is a TV producer and his personality was awesome to work with, him and Debra were so cute together :) true love for each other is always beautiful to photograph.

Papillon weddings and Events represented by the amazing Juliette Franze did and awesome job coordinating the event and making sure everything went perfect.

Just for inspiration sake...Here is a photo I shot at on May 4th, 2008 of my good friends, Paul and Rachel during their Cosmic Ceremony. This is one of my fav's I've got tucked into my pouch of shots...

This shot was made with the 85mm 1.2 Lens There was clothing from someone's, an object very close to the right and left side of my frame. This causes the blur we see highlighted by a splash of water (a blessing) from one of her guests. This moment super hard to predict and I'd consider several parts of this photo as a lucky encounter :)
