Wow.. This is an amazing story. Tracy + Pete originally scheduled the ceremony to take place at SUNSET on Oct 28th at Casa Marcaribe located about 35 minuets south of Playa del Carmen in Soliman Bay. This bay is very shallow and full of sea grass (turtles love this).
As the last week of October developed into reality....so did Hurricane Rina. In fact, it was a category 2 -3ish and looking like direct hit on thursday the 27th. Tracy + Pete were slammed with decision time and special thanks to Malisa from Destination Scout to help arrange a hotel and evacuation plan to Valladolid, a colonial city about 2 hrs inland from Soliman Bay. They shuffled and we rescheduled their wedding day to a sunrise ceremony on Oct 29.
Originally, we had planned for Sol Tamargo to be there but in this rare circumstance, we gathered ALL of our resources and suddenly 3 principal photographers joined in the action. Matt and Juan Jose arrived with cameras in hand and del Sol has done something that we have really never done before, dedicated 1 photographer (with 2 underwater housings + 2 different lenses) to shooting the entire ceremony from the water.
Luckily the weather was AMAZING in the morning on Soliman Bay, the water was glass.
