The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers hosts some of the worlds best, we are stoked to be part of this magic... I managed a 17th place overall...

We were commissioned do a family wedding in Beaufort South Carolina. My cousin Lauren was 4th generation to my grandmother Mimi....it was an honor to be there and see her as a guest and at the same time, tell a photojournalism story of how the day unfolded.... I couldn't believe my eyes when she walked over to this window and started her final touches on lipstick....I had the flash setup for the dress all rigged up, it just fell into place.... We lost her onMarch 7, it was tough loss and I will cherish all my time with her...Its a true honor to memorialize her this way. First Place MIMI!!!
I always look for amazing scenescapes and when I passed by this moment, I paused and drooled and used my 5d II with my 35L and took a quick snapshot handlheld at 1/160th 2.2 at ISO 800. It was quick, instant really as I was walking with someone at the time and really didnt have time... I came back later with my tripod and my photo SUCKS 2nd go round...this frame was "the one"... kinda serendipitous.
