“If anyone objects to this marriage you should go to the bar and keep it to yourself!” – Kristina and Justin’s officiants, also their siblings

We salute all the couples who find different ways to customize their wedding days and change up the traditional format. Kristina and Justin told us they wanted their wedding to be “slightly untraditional” and true to them as a couple. Their wedding is full of personalized details: from swapping the traditional first dance for a ‘husband vs. wife’ lip-sync battle to having their siblings officiate their ceremony:

“Our siblings are known pranksters, so giving them full reign on our ceremony was a little nerve-wracking, especially knowing that they were collaborating together. They really did surprise us with a heart-warming and witty ceremony that had our guests chuckling and applauding their creativity.” –  Kristina

No matter how much organization and care goes into a wedding, there is almost always something that deviates from the plan on the day itself…

“Every detail of our wedding was planned to the T, so it was quite unexpected when our rings lost their balance and dropped into the sand. Our ring bearer was such a good sport – making sure he stood still and waited for help. The rest of the wedding party was stunned and the procession came to a halt. Luckily for us our guests quickly jumped into action and to the rescue!

After what felt like forever, our guests gracefully recovered the rings so that the show could go on! And we were so thankful! It was a memorable part of our wedding that was certainly not planned, but looking back it gives us all a good laugh!” – Kristina

We absolutely love Kristina’s romantic boho dress and flowers, matched by the relaxed beach club vibe of the Blue Venado, a gorgeous hidden corner of beach right next to Playa del Carmen:

Once we saw Blue Venado we instantly knew that was our wedding venue. The rustic feel along with the amazing beach view were exactly what we had in mind. The best part about our venue was the complete privacy. Having the beach venue to ourselves made us feel like we were in a remote location with our guests, everyone loved it!

Having our wedding in Mexico was the best decision we made. All of our vendors were amazing and the service was impeccable! The laid back vibe complete with a beautiful beach view makes Mexico a perfect destination wedding spot.

Special mention to DJ Diego for joining Justin on the dance floor for a cameo appearance in his lip-sync!
