“You’re my greatest adventure”

“We started out planning the traditional wedding back home. Searching for the perfect dress, choosing the proper invites, looking for a venue large enough but not to big and a venue with beauty of its own. We needed to decide on colors, flowers, and catering. Do we have a sit down meal or do we go with a buffet? How many bridesmaids and how many groomsmen and how do we choose?  While most brides might enjoy the beauty of the chaos I am not one who does and neither was Weston.”

For information about planning your travel and room blocks at Dreams Aventuras Candle Wedding, we can help…WE plan trips, we have pics of the hotels we love, we offer this service to all our clients.

“That’s when it occurred to both of us that the big traditional wedding was not us at all!! We just wanted to get married and spend the rest of our lives together!”

“Still – we wanted a beautiful romantic wedding but we also wanted something laid back and fun. We wanted a smaller more intimate wedding. That’s when the idea of a destination wedding came into play. We thought what better place for a wedding than Mexico, where just a year earlier Weston had proposed to me in Cozumel.”

“We are in love with the romantic yet laid back vibe of Mexico’s Riviera Maya. The area is rich with culture, natural beauty and friendly locals and exactly what we wanted.” #travelforlove

“As soon as I saw the wedding gazebo on the water at Dreams Puerto Aventuras I knew our search was over. It was beautiful!! We found it to be a huge bonus for us as well as our guests that the resort was an all inclusive.  We wanted our guests to relax and have fun with everything at their fingertips and this resort provided it all!”

“Zoe Garnica was our onsite wedding coordinator and we absolutely loved her!! She made certain everything ran smoothly and was a lifesaver to my mom who was not only planning and styling our wedding but doing so in another country!! All of the staff at Dreams were awesome but we especially loved the bell guys!! Pulling up to the resort we were always greeted with laughter and smiles and they were great about answering any questions about the area we had!”

“We love the keepsake gifts our family gave us before the wedding. Both our parents gave us matching Bibles engraved with “Our journey begins”, our names and our wedding date.

My Mimi and Grandma made my garter from pieces of left over fabric from my dress alterations and the lace from my Mimi’s wedding dress. I especially love that my dad gave Weston a pocket knife engraved with our wedding date and initials.”

“Once Weston and I decided on the venue, colors and vision for the wedding we left the planning and logistics to my mom. We wanted the ceremony and reception to be simple and fun with a Mexican flair yet still romantic with lots of light but most important we wanted to incorporate our love for God into our wedding.”

“My mom started researching wedding blogs and local vendors and that is where she found Love and Lace Wedding Decor. The owner, Katy,  is awesome and had so many unique decorative items! My favorites were the vintage suitcases and Papel Picado banners. Our adventure destination wedding was coming together!”

“My favorite part of the decor were all the candles! Marcos Cazaux, the owner of The Candle Boutique in Playa del Carmen, is a true artist and his candles are handmade!! My mom only met with him onsite one time before the wedding and that’s all it took! He just gets it!! He knew exactly what we wanted within minutes!!”

“The ceremony was held in the gazebo which was decorated with bright colorful flowers, greenery white draping and candles. Each chair was marked with a maraca for guests to “shake at the kiss”. The Candle Boutique made custom signs with scriptures and candles that lined the isle to the wedding altar where hanging above was a wood sign that read “Because he first loved us”. It was perfect.”

“Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed at the Barracuda Beach Bar.  I loved the swings that hung at the bar and the mariachi band! A few of our favorite details were our globe which guests signed in lieu of the traditional guest book and our wooden Polaroid adventure book! Guests struck a pose wearing colorful sombreros then added their photo to the book with best wishes for the new Mr. And Mrs.!! It was so much fun!!”

“Candles illuminating the water lined our entire path from the gazebo to the North beach where our reception was held. String lighting with white Mexican banners draped above and candles filled the whole space. I loved our initials that lit up and stood over six foot tall and wide and the love boat filled and surrounded with candles, all made by The Candle Boutique. It was truly magical!!”

“Hanging glass candle jars were the perfect backdrop for our sweetheart table.  No detail was overlooked, we had a dessert bar with petite Mexican desserts and our cake was gorgeous with fresh flowers and succulents topped with a gold cake topper that read “You’re my greatest adventure”.”

“Guest tables were covered in white linens and vintage burlap lace runners. Accenting the center pieces of candle jars and colorful flowers were gold chargers hosting a maraca, potted succulent and a place card for each guest.”

“During dinner we were surprised with a fire and drum show! The fire dancers were awesome and everyone enjoyed it. The fun continued with drinks, music and a beach bonfire. As the night came to an end favors of Mexican vanilla and hot sauce were given to each guest and the evening was wrapped up with a fun sparkler exit!!”

“We could not be happier with everyone at Del Sol Photography! Our photographers Martina and Vanessa  are the best and great at what they do! They didn’t miss a thing, made us feel completely at ease during the whole night and everyone loved them!! We can’t wait to see their finished work!”

“Our destination wedding turned out better than we could have imagined. We are so happy that we chose Mexico to begin our greatest adventure together!!”
