Dreams Riviera Cancun Wedding – Erin and James

“Jamie and I couldn’t have been happier with our choice to have a destination wedding… our advice would be for everyone to do the same :) We had such a great time getting to spend an entire weekend with family and friends for our wedding celebration instead of just a few hours!!”

Everything Erin and James tell us about their wedding day seems to have the happiness of their family and friends at its heart. The presence and support of their loved ones really made their day!

“It made it that much more meaningful having everyone there knowing they had traveled all the way to Mexico to celebrate with us and to support us! We both had many family members, all of our siblings and many friends – new and old, come to celebrate with us. Our wedding officiant is one of my best friend’s father who is a retired judge, that added a special and personal touch to our day too.”

A rainy morning meant a change of ceremony location,  Erin admitted that the beginning of the day was “a bit stressful” but when she and Jamie saw each other at the ceremony they both just relaxed and enjoyed the day. They both agree seeing each other for the first time was their favorite part of the wedding:

“I also loved when just Jamie and I went to take pictures on the beach-it was our only time alone that day and it was nice to have a few moments with just us.”

In the end it seems like  although a wedding day often seems like it’s all about two people, the family love is the thing that makes the day special.

“It was so special to have so many people close to us involved in our ceremony. My parent’s support and involvement in the wedding was one of the most memorable things as well. My mom brought a special broach of my aunts and a hankie of my grandmother (both of whom passed away) and my father gave a very special and emotional speech during the reception; they were so supportive of our idea to have a destination wedding and helped our day to be as special as it was :)”
