Ocean Coral & Turquesa Resort – Puerto Morelos
Ocean Coral & Turquesa Resort – Puerto Morelos
Plenty of wedding options, stunning private beach and perfect central location:
Located halfway between Playa del Carmen and Cancun in the town of Puerto Morelos you’ll find the Ocean Coral and Turquesa resort, which was given a Condé Nast Traveller award for the best international resort in 2009. Part of the H10 Hotels group, this 4-star all-inclusive resort enjoys nearly 1 kilometer of private beach access along the pristine Riviera Maya coastline.
As seen from our aerial drone photographs, the resort boasts four swimming pools with one children’s swimming pool and Jacuzzi to relax in (on top of their big stretch of powder white sand)
There are 591 rooms total here, with enough space for everyone to enjoy, including 7 bars and 9 restaurants.
After entering the resort or from our aerial photos, you can see the wide hotel design yields excellent ocean views from just about every angle. The buildings are a short hop to the ocean and in many cases, the lobbies are elevated with balconies and expanded viewing areas of the stunning Caribbean ocean.
An important feature of the Ocean Turquesa is its very central location inside the Riviera Maya. Located in Puerto Morelos, the Routa de los Cenotes (a Highway) that connects Puerto Morelos to the hidden gem of the Island of Holbox.
Along this highway, there are many unique sites to explore and discover the region’s world famous dive spots, the Cenotes. These natural sinkholes feature crystal clear waters and have been a draw from divers from around the world for nearly three decades.
From this resort you have quick access to all the popular coastal locations from Cancun to Tulum, such as Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and plenty of amazing beaches in between. You’re also only 17km away from the Cancun international airport, meaning you’ll get from the runway to having a margarita in your hands in just minutes.
So on top of all the good stuff found in this hotel, you’ll find plenty of tours, activities and adventures to enjoy around it too.
Why our clients choose Ocean Coral Turquesa for their destination wedding
Having our two families meet and spend a week together on a resort in Mexico, with nothing more than to have a good time, get to know each other and celebrate with us, was absolutely amazing. Family is so important to us and we enjoyed sharing our special moment with all of them. – Karina + Nathan
We really love the editorial and artistic styling of the photographs by Del Sol. When it comes to photographers, it is important for us to have a photographer who can step outside the box and see the beauty in the small moments that are taking place between the groom and his mother. We are love the night shots, they are very well done and make everything look like it was such a blast. We really dislike posed run of the mill stand and say cheese photos that it seems like most wedding photographers just love to do. We love the candid shots, and catching those amazing moments that came without being posed that way. We LOVE all of your action shots and photos that really unconventional! – Allison and Jeff
They offer legal and symbolic same-sex weddings. They are also very flexible in their ceremony schedules, such as taking reservations on Sundays. (And if you’re wondering what time of year to plan your wedding in the Riviera Maya, check out our Seasonal Guide.)
Wedding ceremony venues:
For your ceremony, they offer three locations just along their long stretch of beach. They also offer a Lobby Terrace with panoramic views of the ocean.
Our favourite ceremony location is their Rooftop Terrace. It’s a more formal and private option but is still located right in front of the ocean. A big advantage of it for the ladies is they can wear any type of footwear and not worry about sand, but still appreciate the ocean view.
With most ceremonies, there is a chance of unexpected guests walking through the background and getting in photos. Up on the rooftop terrace, the only unexpected guests you’ll see are flocks of pelicans and birds soaring along the skyline.
Wedding reception venues:
Indoor and outdoor reception venues are offered to cover any size party and the chance of rainy weather (which usually leads to some amazing rain photos anyway).
Indoor venues include six air-conditioned ballrooms with space to accommodate up to 200 guests. Their Caribbean Grill and Mexican restaurant are also offered as reception options.
Outdoor venues include enjoying their ocean view from the lobby terrace or spreading out on their white sand beach (December – April).
The Ocean Turquesa & Coral Resort by H10 Hotels is one of Del Sol Photography’s preferred inclusive resort venues for destination weddings and events.
