Meli is originally from Playa, so this was a great way to unite both her Mexican and Canadian family and friends in paradise. After a fun getting ready session in the Iberostar Grand Paraiso, the bride and groom and their guests made their way to Xcaret Park, an eco-park famous for its natural beauty and cultural exhibitions.

The ceremony took place in the one of a kind “Capilla de Guadalupe one of our top 10 favorite chapels” where the altar is set upon a sacred cenote and a soaring ceiba tree descends from above…EPIC. The long stairway down to the altar creates a sense of drama (and adds an element to the photos!) to the bride’s entrance, not your usual walk down the aisle. Meli and Derek had a traditional Catholic ceremony as they were united in matrimony, witnessed by their loved ones in this most unique venue.

The evening continued with a lavish reception in the La Isla Restaurant of Xcaret Park. Wedding coordinator Pablo Campos of Xcaret put together a perfect night for the newlyweds and their guests, a delicious meal, beautiful decor with flowers from Floreria Jardin and a lit dance floor where the couple shared their first dance as man and wife.

Dont miss the epic shoot we had with them….in their Xcaret trash the dress session, wowwwwww
