There’s love and beauty and super energy jumping out of everyone of Shannan and George’s photographs. When we were getting to know Shannan before her wedding day we asked if there were any restriction we should be aware of. She replied: “none – I just want some dope pictures” and we knew we would have a great time with her! We asked Shannan to share her wedding day impressions with us.
Del Sol: Tell us about your ceremony, was there a part of each others’ vows that touched you?
Shannan: “The “in sickness and in health, ’til death to us” part, because all we have in this world is each other and our love will stand against time. We can’t image our world without one another.”
Del Sol: We love that your son was included in your wedding day…
“Just the sight of our son brings joy to our heart.” – Shannan
“I lost my only brother 27th March 2015 and we found out we were pregnant which our son November 1st 2015. That was the best birthday gift from God since my birthday is November 5th. He is just everything to us, we see the world in a new light through him, because when I lost my brother I thought I’d lost everything.”
“George Michal Rhen IV is the best. He is what my husband prayed for and waited a life time for. We both thought we would never marry or have kids and for my son to have his twin is the cutest thing ever. Seeing that I could see good in the world after so much bad is the best. He is named after my husband but I gave him my brother name as his middle name. ‘Lil George is just a blessing and makes our lives so much better.”
Del Sol: Tell us about the military tags and the rosary tribute on your bouquet?
Shannan: “Something old, borrowed and blue is bridal tradition. So the rosary represented my faith which is old, historical, and traditional. With God NOTHING is impossible.”
“My “borrowed” was my brother dog tags. Just because he wasn’t able to be there due to his passing doesn’t mean he will not travel with me. He will always be a part of me. I borrowed his dog tags to celebrate life” – Shannan
Del Sol: What was the most amazing moment of your day?
Shannan: “Everything…. but most of all walking down the aisle because everything was so real and I fought back the tears.”

“We had previously stayed at a Dreams Resort and we had a greet time because of the history and just the real loving people. The wedding coordinators are the best! Love ya all big! thank you to Claudia! The food amazinnnnnnnngg, and to the bartender: thank you, great job! Room service thank you for cleaning up after our mess, thank you for the baby crib (this was a big bonus) also guest service were so helpful, they even got us a stroller.”
Del Sol: What’s your top destination wedding advice?
“We traveled for adventure! Having a destination wedding represents our love for life, living in the moment and most of all party, party, party! Our top destination wedding advice is: relax and have fun!”
