Water and light are the main ingredients for anything to grow – Fotoweek Panama

In the Mexican Caribbean we are surrounded by oceans and rivers. We find inspiration in the natural beauty surrounding us. Going out and establishing your connection with mother nature is fundamental to the art of photography. The more you are connected with birds, plants, animals and landscapes the better photographer you will be.

We visited Panama years ago and fell in love with the country. There is so much nature in Panama! The country touches both the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean and the country itself full of jungle and waterfalls. Panama has everything a creative photographer could dreams of to make art!

We were excited to be invited to speak at the first edition of Foto Week Panama 2018. We spoke about the Del Sol Photography story, projects and how we achieved the success we have today. Our goal was to inspire photographers in Panama to embrace the incredible nature they have surrounding them and create their own niche based on their home country.

To grow as an artist you need light and water – go out and shoot in nature!

As part of Foto Week Panama we were asked to give a photography Masterclass. We are best known as trailblazers for underwater Trash the Dress photography. Trash the dress shoots give you the permission to go out into nature with the most perfect white dress and not care about the consequences – all in the pursuit of art.

We are always excited to embrace nature and put our clients in the middle of impossible places. For our Panama Trash the Dress workshop that meant waterfalls!

We held our Panama Trash the Dress workshop at the waterfall Cerro Azul, just outside Panama City. We took the opportunity to showcase how we use water and light and how we pose and work with our clients in these challenging circumstances. We talk about techniques and tips that we have learned over the years that give us great results and how to find the art in the nature surrounding us.

Waterfalls have always been an inspiration for us. Workshop participants learnt how Del Sol Photography plans and approaches Trash the Dress sessions in terms of placement with the bride in the water. We address how deep we shoot, when or when we don’t use an underwater housing for a photo and also the amount of risk we take with electronics!

Our Trash the Dress workshops are designed to feature how we approach each impossible situation. We encourage all photographers to come up with creative solutions as we move through the locations.

It was a great experience, to be in nature, with the local photographers. Everybody enjoyed the opportunity to do something outside the box, to walk in nature and to get into the water!

Del Sol Photography is announcing travel dates to Costa Rica and Brazil.

Our creative powers grow as we show others the ways of our Art. We are excited that we are traveling more and more and have the opportunity to teach trash the dress workshops all over the world! If you are interested in attending a Del Sol Photography workshop let us know!  Private and group workshops are available and we are always excited to help you discover and be inspired by the beauty surrounding us.

Mientras que el cierre será una clase magistral en las cascadas del Cerro Azul donde se le educará en el arte de fotografías personas en bajo el agua y en lugares con agua, a cargo de Del Sol Photography de México, creadores de esta tendencia.

“Vinimos a Panamá hace seis años y quedamos encantadas. Tiene hermosas aguas en el caribe y cascadas; todo lo necesario para que los fotógrafos empiecen a arriesgarse y salirse de lo tradicional usando el agua”, informó Sol Tamargo parte del equipo azteca.

“La inspiración para nosotros ha venido de la naturaleza y queremos sembrar esa semilla en los artistas locales;  enseñar los ejemplos  de lo que haríamos nosotros  si viviéramos en Panamá”, agregó
