“I had always dreamed of having a destination wedding. I believe that it sets the perfect tone for a beautiful new beginning together. Ironically, on our first date, we spent 5 hours talking about Mexico – it’s history and culture. Years later, we would take our first vacation there, so it was a place that was full of beautiful memories for us.”
“Kevin and I travel a lot for our careers, so it was important to us that we were able to create a traveling memory that was centered around us and all our own” – Tiffany
“Kevin and I met in 2007 via Beyoncé as we both work for her. I as a background vocalist (The Mamas) and he as her audio programmer. When we first met, we were both in different relationships, so our friendship evolved through work and our love of music.”
“Years later, we had both ended our respective relationships and began to work together on a more consistent basis. That friendship and close working relationship blossomed and we decided to pursue a relationship together. At the time, neither of us had any intentions of marrying based on a combination of personal beliefs and past experiences. However, over time, it became evident that we desired to build and spend our lives together on more than a casual basis.”
“On January 22, 2015, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Just 3 short months after we had lost a mutual friend from the same disease. It was without a doubt the scariest time of my life. Through that experience, Kwiz and I drew closer and it totally redefined how we approached life and how we saw each other.”
“After seeing the way this MAN guided, guarded, protected & provided for me, LOVED me back to good health and never left my side, God removed all doubt and gave my heart & mind the peace of knowing this was the man I was supposed to marry. I prayed on it and waited (albeit, impatiently – lol) for it. And on August 20, 2015, he proposed.”
“I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – the oldest Greek-letter organisation established in America by Black college women. Our organisation includes almost 300,000 college-trained women who are bound by the bonds of sisterhood, lifelong membership and dedication to providing “Service To All Mankind.”
Membership has its privileges. Through mine, I have gained life-transforming experiences and learned priceless lessons that have enhanced my role personally and professionally. As a woman, mother, wife and sister. No matter where I am in the WORLD”
“I take my love and pride of my Sorors (sisters). For us, “Sister” is more than a word and comes with tremendous responsibility; it’s our lifestyle. Having them with me on my special day was something I will always cherish.”
“The wedding sand ceremony was important to us as a blended family. We both have children from our previous relationships. We were not only marrying each other, but uniting our respective families and it was important to us to include our children in the ceremony.”
“We each had different colours of sand in individual vessels to represent our individual selves/roles. By collectively pouring our sand into the united vessel, we were symbolically transitioning from two separate families to a united “one”.”
“Birds!!! I was absolutely petrified – lol! I’ve had a fear of birds since I was 11 years old.”
“On my 11th birthday, I went to Liberty State Park to see the Statue of Liberty. During lunch, I had gotten a hot dog and some soda to drink. Just as I was about to take my second bite out of that hot dog, a seagull came down and snatched the hot dog and bun out of my hand and flew off leaving me empty handed. I have been traumatised ever since.”
“So, as soon as Sol asks one of the groomsmen to help attract the birds, I went into an immediate panic. Thankfully, I was in the safe in Kevin’s arms. And it made for a beautiful photo op!”
“Sol and the team were absolutely AMAZING! Everyone was so helpful with not only taking great pictures, but calming my nerves as we prepared for the wedding. The entire team knew how to take every moment of our day and make it meaningful and beautiful. I’m so glad we picked delSol Photography!”
“As musicians and professionals in the entertainment industry, it was important to us to select a place that captured the true essence of who we were. We wanted elegance, but not stuffy, we wanted the serenity of the beach and ocean, but we wanted it to be fun and active! We wanted a place that had enough activities to offer any personality type and was family oriented.”
“Finally, it was important to us to have our wedding at a place where we, and our guests could leave the cares and worries of home behind. Hard Rock Riviera Maya was a beautiful location and has a reputation being a fun and entertaining franchise.”
“The resort exceeded our expectations! Everyone, from our travel coordinator (Pamela Wieder-Bier) to our onsite coordinator (Liliana Garcia & staff) and our personal assistants, (Daniel and Emmanuel) took care of our every need and made sure that we ALL had the time of our lives. We look forward to revisiting on our anniversary!”
“We didn’t preplan our vows for the wedding. Kevin thought it would be more authentic and meaningful if he spoke from the heart. Tiffany is traditionally more of a planner, so the thought of speaking off the cuff initially alarmed her.
“In the end, we both decided to give our vows as they came to our heart in that moment. The result was something more real, honest and beautiful than any pre-planned speech could have ever been! Sometimes, hubby is right! Haha!!”
It was a beautiful day, family love, lots of laughs and dancing!!! Gracias Tiffany and Kev for the trust! and for letting me bring the “birds”! – Sol
