Coptic Orthodox Wedding – Nuestra Señora del Carmen + Paradisus La Perla
Monica and David’s wedding was a beautiful example of a traditional religious celebration. The Coptic Orthodox wedding took place in the famous Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Carmen on Playa del Carmen’s 5th Avenue. The rich Coptic traditions were a pleasure to capture from the elegant robes of the officiants to the crowns and capes of the bride and groom.
After the ceremony, the wedding party had a celebratory walk down the famous 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen, accompanied by cheering tourists and mariachis.
After some portraits at dusk on the beach, the party got started in the gazebo of Paradisus La Perla. This is a lovely venue, the rustic feel of the wood and palapa roof contrasting with the lit dance floor and party lights, creating an intimate space that is warm and inviting. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed the delicious cuisine, cool drinks and a whole lot of dancing, it was a fun celebration for all.
