Isla De La Pasión Chapel Wedding – Moni and Phil
“We were looking for a special beach… somewhere where we didn’t feel constricted by time limit, or space limit. I think that’s how our personalities are!”
Moni and Phil chose the incredible Island of Isla de la Pasión – literally “Passion Island” for their wedding day. For hardcore beach lovers like Moni and Phil, Isla de la Pasión is a paradise with the ultimate Caribbean Island feel. It also happens to have a seaside consecrated chapel, the Capilla Jesucristo Pescador so Moni and Phil really could have a real Catholic wedding on the beach!
Moni and Phil included a super cool and original wedding detail: custom temporary tattoos! They had over 20 different designs which each told a story about their relationship AND acted as escort cards for the wedding dinner, each tattoo corresponding to a table – bravo chicos!
“We wanted the guests to start conversations with them so they could know a little of our story and get to know us, and talk amongst themselves! Good conversation starters. We made sure each one reminded us of pieces of our story so we could talk about them with the guests. For example, Phil is half British, half Polish and I’m Mexican, and we live in NY – big mix for that tattoo :)” – Moni
So what are Moni and Phil’s top tips for the ultimate Caribbean island wedding?
“Take charge! and let go…. at the same time. It was very funny to see a British man trying to have control of the situation, when I know that in Mexico things are a little more… umm… relaxed! Some things will turn out how you want, and some won’t. And you just have to let go…”
