The Nizuc pier has a special significance for Stephanie and Jason. Not only is it the place they became husband and wife, it’s also the spot Jason asked Stephanie to marry him!
“Jason proposed at Nizuc Resort in September of 2017, an elaborate proposal that took months of planning and preparation.” – Stephanie
“He knew that he wanted to travel for the proposal and Cancun has a special place in both of our hearts as Jason worked there when we started dating years ago.”
“One day Jason walked into the Las Vegas gallery of world-renowned photographer, Peter Lik. He saw a beautiful art piece titled “Enchanted Jetty” and knew this was where he wanted to propose. He did some research and found out that the photograph was taken at Nizuc Pier.”
“Jason proposed in that same exact location months after seeing the art. When we returned home from Mexico following the gorgeous proposal, the “Enchanted Jetty” art was hanging in our living room – yet another engagement gift from Jason.”

Del Sol: We love to know about the words that meant the most on your wedding day – did anything stand out?
“We wrote our own vows. This was one of the most magical moments on our wedding day. Being able to share with our wedding guests our hopes and dreams for the future, and what each of us means most to one another was truly special.” – Stephanie
Stephanie: “It was also extremely touching just how many family and friends traveled all the way to Mexico to share in our special day.
The speeches from my parents, Jason’s mom, my sisters, best friend Catie and Jason’s brother Mikal and best man Ben were very touching and added to our special day.”
“There was truly so much love with us on our wedding weekend – we were honored to have such a special group there to celebrate with us.”
Del Sol: What was the most amazing moment of your day?
Stephanie: “The small, intimate nature of our closest loved ones and friends celebrating with us.”
Del Sol: Why did you Travel for Love?
“Mexico holds a special place in both of our hearts as Jason worked in Cancun when we first started dating. We knew that we wanted to have a destination wedding where we could relax and enjoy time with our closest family and friends. The weekend was a dream.” – Stephanie
Del Sol: How was your experience with the del Sol team?
“Our experience with the Del Sol Team was amazing. Martina and her team were so professional and beyond creative. The wedding day was beautiful, a bit hectic and above all, memorable for a lifetime. It’s been amazing to see what Martina captured. All of the special moments that we will have to remember through our photos.”

“Go for it! A destination wedding should not be daunting! The team at Nizuc and all of our vendors went above and beyond for us. Our friends and family were able to celebrate with us while also enjoying a vacation together, which was the most special part of it all.” – Stephanie
