Playa del Carmen Church and Beach Club Wedding- Erika and Victor
“We love to be near the ocean and the energy of the Riviera Maya feels truly special. We wanted to bring our closest family and friends to the region so they too would experience the magical energy, natural beauty, and rich cultural history.”
“I wanted to do something unique to show effort and thought put into the gift. I wanted the gift to be special in many ways and something that could be used in the future to remember our special wedding moments.”
“I was very surprised to see the memory box. I felt so grateful for all of the time Victor spent putting the gift together.”
“The way he expressed his love to me through a poem, the written note, picture of us, embroidered pjs. It felt like every part of the gift was so thoughtful it brought tears to my eyes.”
“It felt so good knowing he put his love and time to show me versus buying a materialistic gift. I honestly thought it was going to be a pair of shoes i wanted to wear on the dance floor at the wedding.” – Erika
“The red socks are an Esposto tradition to wear for all family weddings. It was started by the oldest cousin at his wedding 20+ years ago (our first guest reader at church) to honor their grandpa Ray Esposto. Grandpa Ray always wore red socks so he could distinguish his socks from those of his seven children since Grandma Esposto only bought two types of socks: white or red.”
Erika’s grandma also made a very cool appearance in the form of her sister’s fab tattoo – we LOVE:
“My tattoos are a reinterpretation of the American Traditional style. “Mami” replaces the “Mom” tattoo and instead of a nameless pinup, I used the only photo we have of my grandma in her youth and created a Mexican Revolution-style pinup.” – Emilly
Erika and Victor made the most of the flexibility offered in Playa del Carmen: getting ready in a hotel, ceremony in a church and reception in a beach club – the best of ALL worlds!
“Our original plan was to have our ceremony on the beach at an inclusive hotel. After researching our options we quickly realized it would be challenging to reflect our personalities in the “cookie cutter” event. We decided to have the ceremony at the church on the 5th because of its beauty, history, and our religious upbringing.”
“We loved the reception location at Mamitas. Feeling the open space, proximity to the ocean, clean, modern space, and well known for its great party atmosphere.”
“The staff went above and beyond to help make the day very special. We were so surprised by all of their attention to details. They even wrote our names on the desert which was completely unexpected. Victor’s family is in the catering business in the Bay Area, CA. His family has high standards for service and food, and Mamita’s exceeded in all aspects. It brings us much joy knowing everything went smoothly.”
“We loved working with Debora! She’s friendly, encouraging, funny, and confident. She helped us feel comfortable working with the day of the wedding and all day at the cenotes. Our families and friends also mentioned how much they appreciated Debora and the Del Sol team because they were all so professional, easy going, organized, and fun to work with.”
“Our top destination wedding advice is to enjoy the process as a couple. Work as a team and trust that everything will workout. Don’t hesitate to ask for help family and friends love to feel like they are part of the story.”
