The trash the dress concept was born in our home, the Riviera Maya, however the concept has travelled around the world! Every new location we do a trash the dress is an exiting opportunity for us to play. The juxtaposition of a bride in a pristine white wedding dress and the wildness of mother nature always blows us away. After Ashley and Ryson’s Hyatt Ziva wedding and pre-wedding session we asked them to share their reflections a on their Puerto Vallarta Trash the Dress
Del Sol: Why did you decide to do a Puerto Vallarta trash the dress?
Ashley: “We were so excited to do a trash the dress session. This shoot gives you the opportunity to truly celebrate for the first time alone as husband and wife in a fun and playful way. You get to let loose, get a bit wild and dirty, and come out of it with some incredibly fun, romantic (and possibly a bit sexy) AH-mazing photos!”
“A trash the dress allows you the opportunity to take advantage of a new stunning backdrop in a different locale other than where you had chosen to get married.” – Ashley
“We were originally hesitant to schedule the off-site Puerto Vallarta trash the dress shoot the day after our wedding. We thought we might be too tired or that our guests might feel neglected. This wasn’t the case. We are so happy with our decision to do the shoot the next day as it gave us a chance to spend some alone time together, and our guests were able to relax and have a lazy day at the resort. (Many were so exhausted from the night before, so this worked out perfectly!)”

Del Sol: Talk to us about the difference of experiencing Puerto Vallarta inside the resort for your wedding and outside during your trash the dress!
“We’re so glad we decided to go off-property to do the TTD shoot. It gave us the opportunity to experience a completely new side of Puerto Vallarta and to shoot in a completely different environment and setting.” – Ashley
“We got married on a beautiful private beach at Hyatt Ziva, and the Puerto Vallarta trash the dress session took place in a lush, tropical jungle with rivers and waterfalls – total paradise!”
Del Sol: How was the experience? Was it how you imagined it?
“It was so much fun! We felt so comfortable and were so incredibly happy with the entire experience.”
Del Sol: Talk to us about the location you went to!
“Vallarta Adventures All Terrain Safari was an absolutely stunning place to do the photoshoot. The journey to get there really made the day even more memorable.”
“We first drove about 20 minutes along a beautiful coastline, then got to ride ATV’s the rest of the way.”
“Zipping up and down the muddy jungle paths was thrilling, and it was such a fun way to celebrate the first day together officially as newlyweds! Honestly, I think this is such a great idea for a better post-wedding activity to do as a couple.”
Del Sol: what did you love in particular about the whole Puerto Vallarta trash the dress experience?
“The ATV ride to get there was super fun but we also enjoyed all of the beautiful places to kiss, cuddle and snuggle up together – not that we really need an excuse ;) The photoshoot felt very natural and relaxed.”
Del Sol: What was the most memorable part of the day?
“The entire day was memorable but there was one moment where we were laying under a stream, the water was dripping down our faces, we were holding each other and we kissed – it was so incredibly romantic!” – Ashley
Del Sol: What would be your advice for other couples considering a TTD?
“Consider wearing something different than what you wore for your wedding, especially if the attire is cumbersome or difficult to move in. I originally planned to wear my wedding dress for the shoot but because my dress was not a typical “beach wedding” dress it had a tighter fit and more layers that would make it difficult to move in if it got wet.”
“you want to feel comfortable and beautiful, as this is the time to play and get silly.” – Ashley
