Riviera Maya Cenote and Beach Trash the Dress – Zaray and Jesus
We are lucky enough to be asked to swim with our clients underwater. Wedding dresses were not meant to be treated like this and yet somehow, we keep getting asked to photograph them underwater and in exotic environments. Every day we must pinch ourselves “Is this real life” because now we are being asked and trusted by wedding professionals to do this for them personally.
Zaray has worked as a wedding planner for years with Palace Resorts and we were delighted to be able to share this adventure with her. Zaray and Jesus were both excellent in the water (and trust us, this isn’t easy to do). No matter how comfortable you are in the water, swimming and posing underwater is a challenge for anyone, but Zaray made it look easy and really worked magic with her gorgeous cathedral veil.
I started taking underwater pictures because of the cenotes. I was blown away by their unique underwater world and decided to buy gear and learn about photography so I could capture that beauty myself. The colors and the light are incredible, but most of all I love the way the cenotes make you feel, as though you’re in a fairytale world. What’s more surreal and spectacular than seeing a bride flying through an underwater meadow? Watching a couple kissing in a beam of light, lacy veils flying around them and fish swimming by? It’s a pleasure and a privilege to take pictures in this amazing place especially with awesome people like Zaray and Jesus. Thanks you two – We had a blast! – Polly
