Surprise Vow Renewal Tulum Mexico
“Our wedding day back in Austin was 28 degrees Fahrenheit. The wedding cake froze. We shivered, we shivered and we laughed the whole day because… what else can you do?”
Life may be a box of chocolates, but that means you really never do know what you’re going to get! Jessica and Sean got the coldest day on record in Austin on their wedding day. An entirely outdoor venue, a frozen wedding cake. Nothing to do but to smile and make the best of it! Jessica is a wedding photographer herself. She knows only too well that there is no point to stress about the weather, better get on and enjoy your day and accept what the universe sends.
Shortly after their wedding, Jessica was in a car accident that left her with chronic pain. Her injuries and the discomfort that they brought her, she feels really impacted the beginning of her new marriage. They never took their honeymoon, until now.
Hitting “reset”
Jessica decided to take control. She decided to try to set the reset button and went out of her way to create a new start for her and Sean. She booked their honeymoon to Mexico and reached out to us to book the couples photos she couldn’t have on her freezing wedding day. When we heard the story, we felt compelled to “gift them” with a vow renewal ceremony at a very magical lagoon in Tulum.
We worked with Angelica is the shaman, a spiritual woman who created a ceremony for Jessica and Sean. She is an experienced therapist, with a deep spiritual connection and loving empathic nature. Choosing the location that was perfect was very important. It was a sweet ceremony, with mother nature as the stage, followed by offerings to the new beginnings gods, and for love of course! Then we had a warm portrait session in the beautiful nature around us.”
“I haven’t been there for Sean, in many ways. I wanted him to know that I am here for him, that I will always be here for him. I wanted to reinforce that and say it again. This was for us. It wasn’t for everyone who travelled, flew, drove X amount of miles… this was for us” – Jessica + Sean
Did the magic work? Does a vow renewal restart the relationship? We believe it is a special connection, traveling for love, putting each other first, before kids, before other family members, and giving to each other openly.
