Cenote Trash the Dress – Zhen and Xiaokai

An underwater trash the dress shoot in the Riviera Maya…hot red shoes, cool, clear waters and a sweet young couple fresh out of Yale. Zhen and Xiaokai traveled from China to the USA to study and were lucky to fall in love while earning their PhDs. They both enjoy traveling, photography and skiing and we were happy to be able to share a Riviera Maya adventure with them. Photographer Debora led the way, bringing Zhen and Xiaokai to one of the prettiest cenotes in the region. After capturing some portraits of the newlyweds amidst the rich greenery of the jungle, the shoot continued to the fresh waters of the cenote. Working underwater is not as easy at it may look, Zhen’s gown by David’s Bridal was very heavy once wet and her spiky red shoes looked amazing but were not made for extreme explorations, she was a real trooper and did a fantastic job with the help of Xiaokai and the Del Sol Photography team.
