Dreams Tulum Beach Wedding Riviera Maya

“I told Patrick (prior to him proposing) that when we got married, it HAD to be on the beach. Because he is so wonderful, he happily agreed to make my dream come true.” – Joneice

For true beach lovers there’s not much that beats a Dreams Tulum beach wedding! The sweeping, wide white sand and crashing waves mix the comfort of the resort with a wild “real beach” feel that we love. Joneice and Patrick’s wedding was extra special as they were joined by their kids, making this a union of two families. We asked Joneice to share her and Patrick’s story and her reflections on the day.

Joneice: “Patrick and I first met many years ago, we both attended the same church and went to youth group together (although I was almost 4 years older than him). About 6 years ago, I received a friend request from him on Facebook, and about a year later he messaged me privately.

“We started talking, felt chemistry, laughed a lot, and decided we wanted to meet. About 6 months after our first date, I (with my 2 younger children) moved in with him.”

“We share 4 children from previous relationships, but I love Triston (my stepson) and he loves my Jacob, Jonah and Emily as if they were our own. The kids are pretty crazy about us too! LOL” – Joneice

“Patrick surprised me with a birthday trip to the Riviera Maya in September, and got down on one knee, beneath of moon with waves crashing…and made me ecstatically bawl like a baby. YES, I cry all the time! Haha. And the planning began.”

“We drove around Riviera Maya, Playa Del Carmen, and finally, Tulum, to find the perfect venue for our ‘I do’s’. Dreams Tulum met all our wishes and expectations.” – Joneice

Joneice: “I showed Patrick, and we both knew we had to make a way! Del Sol Photography more than met our expectations, and everyone we’ve spoken to has been so helpful, understanding, and friendly. At the risk of sounding cheesy, they made us feel like we were family! And to us, that says it all!”

“As far as being in front of the camera, I thought it was going to be very awkward. I am shy, and like to blend in. But Sol was patient with my questions, gave me direction, and honestly, it was amazing! Patrick was the pro, he didn’t need a lot of instructions, and he was definitely my cheerleader, reassuring me through it.”

“In closing, all I can think to say is our wedding was truly the happiest day of my life. There was the aroma of vibrant tropical flowers mixed with the salt air, sand between our toes, waves crashing behind us and our loved ones, vows of love given, the most bad-ass wedding photographers in Mexico (if not the world) capturing every moment for us, but the best…….marrying the love of my life! We got the fairytale!!!”
