“Oh, I definitely think an elopement is in order. The sooner I get you all to myself, the better.” – Deanna Raybourn
To “elope” most literally means to “slip away” or “escape”. More commonly it’s used to describe running off to get secretly, exactly what Niki and Jonathan did!
We think it’s awesome that Niki and Jonathan eloped! Not everyone wants the big party, worrying about who to invite, the rehearsal dinner, and all the rest. It’s wonderful that they chose just to be with one another. It’s an amazing privilege to be chosen to be a part of such a private moment, there was not even an officiant just us, Niki and Jonathan, and the wedding planner. The planner was amazing, super-nice, and took charge of keeping Niki and Jonathan well mojito-ed while we were scouting for locations. Niki and Jonathan were very in love! He was so kind and spoke very softly to Niki, it was an honor to be a part of their day.
There are many reasons why more and more couples are choosing to ditch big celebrations and make a wedding just for two. But forget all the practical upshots of a simple wedding day, eloping is about as romantic as it gets – congratulations Niki and Jonathan, we salute you!
