Now Sapphire Beach Wedding – Jill and Marcus
“It is tradition to get married in the bride’s hometown, but because we went another route, I wanted a way to personalize our wedding. It was a very intimate ceremony (though we didn’t write our vows…we’re terrible!! haha) so instead we personalized our wedding by having Marcus’ father give a blessing to us and blessing our rings during the ceremony.” – Now Sapphire Beach Wedding

Jill is a self confessed atypical bride – she told us she felt she could have “done without a wedding and such” and “planning isn’t really her thing”. For someone who had obviously not dreamed about her wedding day since she was little, Jill embraced her and Marcus’s wedding wholeheartedly. They incorporated some really thoughtful details into their day, such as their bilingual blessing:
“Marcus’ family speaks Portuguese and my family all speak English, so after his father spoke and read from his Portuguese Bible, we had Marcus’ brother translate. His father is a pastor back in Brazil and it meant the world to him… AND to us! His words were beautiful and I wouldn’t go back and change anything… it was perfect!”
Jill and Marcus are also responsible for a making a little girls birthday one to remember, Jill’s niece and goddaughter, Kamryn, turned 8 the day of their wedding.
“I called up my niece and asked her ‘permission’ to share her special day with us, she was super excited we wanted to get married on her birthday!””
“The day before Kamryn and I got pedicures, then the wedding day she got her hair done at the resort salon. Lots of pampering for a 8 year old! Ha! After dinner the resort brought her a special dessert with a firework candle on it and we all sang ‘Happy Birthday’, then our band, The Shine, pulled her up on stage! She sent me a card thanking us for having her as a flower girl and said it was her ‘BEST BIRTHDAY EVER’!!! I couldn’t have picked a better person to share our wedding day with!
So how does a bride who could have forgone their wedding day altogether feel about the destination wedding experience?
“GET MARRIED IN MEXICO!!! Seriously… I would recommend to anyone and everyone getting married to have a destination wedding! It was so carefree, zero stress and totally SAFE!
“Rather than planning for so long for one day that comes and goes, a week long vacation getaway to celebrate you and your future spouse and family is 100% worth it. And all of my family agrees! We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding coordinator, Juan Carlos Castillo, and the service at the resort. After our wedding day, I just wanted to do it all over again and again and again! It was so much fun and we honestly wouldn’t go back and change anything about it! It was truly the best day ever. “

“We picked Del Sol Photography because I follow our wedding coordinator on Instagram. He posted a photo from a wedding and tagged you in it. From there I found your website and looked through many photos, and Juan Carlos assured us that you guys were the best; and so it was an easy decision!”
