Palmaia House of Aia Weddings

A groundbreaking, environmentally aware, luxury, all-inclusive resort

Palmaia House of Aia weddings are for a wedding group who want the convenience of an all-inclusive resort but the philosophy of a luxury, boutique hotel. It’s also for the eco-conscious, proving that “sustainable all-inclusive luxury resort” is not an oxymoron! Design-wise the rustic chic decor is some of the most beautiful we’ve seen, very “Tulum Style,” oozing boho-chic and #wanderlust. If you want the look, feel and Instagram-ability of Tulum but don’t want to travel 2 hours from the airport, Palmaia is a great option.

Palmaia House of Aia is set inside the gated community of Playacar, at the southern edge of Playa del Carmen downtown. It’s one hour from Cancun Airport and 1 hour to Tulum.

Exquisite detail in one of the first carbon-neutral resorts in the world

The level of eco-consciousness demonstrated by Palmaia, the House of Aia is astounding. Restaurants celebrate organic, local, seasonal and plant-based food, though meat, seafood, and dairy are all available. All the products found in the rooms such as soaps and shampoos are vegan and cruelty-free as standard. There are even “all-vegan room” options featuring zero use of leather and feather-free bedding. When you arrive you are given a thermos mug to avoid plastic water bottle use during your stay. Even the coasters are made from local seaweed.

Family-Friendly Luxury

Do not be mistaken that this ultra enlightened philosophy means monk-like simplicity – not so! The rooms are sumptuous, overflowing with rich, contrasting textures and colors. The room numbers are star constellations.

Aside from the whimsical details, the accommodation is also super smart! The Del Sol Travels team loved the multi-generational suite accommodation. Their fave is the Ocean Front Master Family Suites. They have a master bedroom bathroom with a (sexy AF) tub plus shower and separate seating area. The kids bedroom we visited had adorable mini bunk beds and matching en-suite mini bathroom. The design invited you to put the kids to bed and get to enjoy grown up time.

We also really appreciate the twin showers in the twin room we visited – a detail that’s rarely if ever considered. All of the Palmaia suites have Wi-Fi smart TVs and Bluetooth music network, as well as the usual fare of minibars, bathrobes and slippers and a nightly turndown service. Also available are butler service, valet parking, concierge service, and 24-hour room service.

Health, wellness, balance, and FUN!

Plamaia the House of Aia has a philosophy rooted in enhancing your mind-body connection for an enlightening and indulgent vacation. They offer mind, body, and spiritual activities. Starting at the better-known end of the spectrum Palmaia has all the water sports, fitness centers and jacuzzis that you would hope for. Nice extra touches are the complimentary bike rentals and wait service at both the pools and beach for proper relaxational purposes.

The resort also offers way more for guests who want their vacation to be a retreat experience. Yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, sound healing, and sun-gazing are on the menu for starters. Atlantis: The Spa in the Jungle features individual spa cabins and offers a wide range of holistic experiences from massages and facials to guided spiritual journeys with the resort’s shaman. A special note should be made to the activities that pay tribute to the Riviera Maya Area such as energizing indigenous rituals such as pre-Hispanic dances, and even ancient plant knowledge.

Luxury Beach Holiday Location

There is so much to talk about it’s easy to forget to mention the beach – however that would be a big mistake! The whole resort has been built to embrace the landscape. Old trees remain, winding through buildings and paths. A cenote river snakes through the spa, and the beach is the jewel in the crown. Nature itself keeps Palmaia’s beach private. There is no walkable access for people not staying at the resort and the wide white sand strip is one of the prettiest in the area. There no resorts at all on the south side of the resort keeping it secluded and tranquil. It’s hard to comprehend how close you are to Playa del Carmen downtown.
