Paradisus La Esmeralda Wedding – Felicia and Matt
There are very few (if any) opportunities in life to have all the people you love together in one place, simply for the purpose of fun and spending time together. We jumped on that opportunity! Fortunately our guests did too! #travelforlove
Felicia: “We know the time, money, and effort it takes to travel to Mexico for a wedding. We were so humbled by everyone’s love and support. What was especially cool for us was not only having our closest friends and family there, but the different parties hitting it off and everyone hanging out together. It was a week we will remember forever. I wish we could relive it! What better way to celebrate than a vacation in paradise with your closest friends and family?”
“We love Paradisus La Esmeralda The entire resort feels like a spa. We knew we wanted an all-inclusive, because it allows for a much more fun and relaxing experience for our guests. Paradisus is top notch. The grounds are beautiful and modern, the food and drinks are quality, and the service is outstanding. They also have a family side as well as adults-only, which was important to us so the kids could be there. The resort was big enough (and had enough bars, restaurants, and activities) to keep everyone entertained, but not too big that we never saw our guests.”
“The day of the wedding, the forecast said 100% chance of rain, and the hotel tried convincing us to move the ceremony inside. I said I would rather be rained on than get married in a conference room (especially in Riviera Maya)! We agreed to take our chances. Luckily, someone was looking out for us. There were bouts of rain all day and it just happened to be clear during our ceremony, from 6-6:30.”
“There was a beautiful rainbow right before our ceremony started—some suggested it was my Dad smiling down (he passed away when I was 12), and I think so too. There were a few times he showed his presence that day, and this was definitely one of them.”
“Moments after the ceremony ended, just after the group photo, the sky opened up and it stated to rain. Our whole wedding ran for cover in the Gabi Club and our cocktail hour was moved inside. Fortunately, there was still booze and appetizers, so our guests didn’t seem to mind.”
“Absolutely nothing went the way I had envisioned or planned that day. The rain was just a testament to life. We make plans, and God laughs—and the day was perfectly imperfect.”
Matt: “Including my children in our special day was the easiest decision Felicia and I have ever made. Our wedding was as much about the children as the two of us because our family became whole.
“When Alanna and Logan walked down the aisle I was overcome with emotion because it was such a special moment. These two little ones bring us so much joy and it made me so happy they could be a part of the greatest moment in my life.”
Felicia: “Formalities aren’t exactly our thing, so after hours of it, we couldn’t wait to let loose. Up to this point, my dress kept falling down (some clasp broke before the ceremony), my veil kept catching onto the beading on the back of my dress, and my bustle—if there was ever a bustle—no one could figure it out.”
“I joyfully ripped off my veil and tucked the train of my dress underneath my arm so the dress would stay up—and went straight to the dance floor!”
“We had an especially fun crowd. I think all 80 of our guests were on the dance floor the entire night. It was a blast.”
“Polly is awesome and extremely talented. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with her. She and Valeria were excellent the day of the wedding. Between the rain, chaos, last minute location changes, attention deficit bride and bridal party—they handled it in stride, and did their thing. Erika (the sales manager) was such a pleasure to work with in the beginning stages as well. Del Sol Photography is extremely professional and they do beautiful work. I would highly recommend them to anyone.”
