Paradisus Wedding – with a Ukulele! – Yola and Kenneth
idea #36930 to surprise your bride: learn to play the ukulele (in secret), write a song about how you met and surprise serenade her at your reception
Kenneth and Yola’s wedding was full of surprises! Some amazing, like Kenneth’s ukulele serenade and some (momentarily) terrifying – like Yola dropping the wedding ring between the wooden deck of the Gabi Bridge!
“It all happened so fast! As I picked up the ring, I had full control of it in my head but my actions did not follow. I reached for the ring, held it and as I moved it slipped right off my fingers. I could not believe it when I just dropped the ring” – Yola
“As Ken reached down for it, I heard everyone gasp! In my head I was like, “Is it bad luck for Ken to pick up his own ring?” Suddenly I looked down and realized the ring had slowly spun right into the crack. I was speechless!”
“We both thought the ring was gone, no way that we would be able to find it. However, we heard cheers and realized the amazing hotel staff were able to retrieve it. It felt like a sign that we were meant to find each other. Now we have an unforgettable story to share with our family and friends.” – Yola
Other ceremony moments worthy of a mention are Kenneth’s alphabet vows:
“My vows cannot compare to Ken’s. He literally memorized his vows in the form of a poem that was in alphabetical order. His paper was just the alphabet!” – Yola
Star of the show for us was Ken’s incredible ukulele serenade with epic lyrics and accompanying slideshow.
“Yola has always been captivated by music and artistry. Her face just lights up and you can see how happy she is. I wanted to surprise her by learning how to play the ukulele. After countless hours of practicing secretly I was happy that it turned out the way it did. We’ve been together for 8 years but I will never stop chasing her.” – Ken
“It was touching that Ken was able to surprise me with a slideshow about our relationship while playing the ukulele. It was so thoughtful for him to learn an instrument because he knows how much I love music. I cannot image how much time he must’ve spent practicing!” – Yola
These guys know how to party HARD! It’s really fun to see the contrast of the formal part if the day and party time!
“I loveeee music! After the nervousness, sweat, and tears of happiness, I transferred all that energy to the dance floor. Ken never liked clubbing. It’s funny to know he had so many moves stored for our wedding night!” – Yola
“We never stayed at Paradisus before, we were trying to narrow down our resort choices in Rivera Maya and Paradisus was very responsive and informative. We decided to try their Love at First Sight Package which allowed us to stay there for 3 nights to check out the atmosphere, service, food and speak with the Romance team that would be responsible for wedding arrangements. It met all our expectations and we fell in love with the Gabi Bridge for the ceremony location. Thank you Paradisus for the amazing experience!”
“We LOVE traveling. It was only fitting that we had our most important day doing so. Everything from the weather, food, and people were amazing. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
A huge thanks to Yola and Ken for keeping us on our toes and for being such a great fun couple, we are super happy dancing to hear they had a great time with us too!
“The Del Sol team was fantastic. We think you guys really take pride into your work and made the whole event seamless. We really appreciated the attention to detail and helping us look and feel our best. Thank you again for the great time!”
