“Matt and I always joke that high fives are “legally binding” so if we high five on something, it’s for real. We thought it appropriate to seal our marriage with a legally binding high-five.”
A first high five before their first kiss – Krista and Matt are our kind of couple for sure! This was a wedding with a really cozy, intimate vibe. The pristine, private beach of Playa de Secreto – literally ‘Secret Beach’, is an incredible location. We loved personal touches like friends officiating the wedding ceremony, and of course that “legally binding” high five!
“We agreed having our friends officiating our wedding ceremony from the start. We wanted someone marrying us who knew us both well and who had seen us as individuals and as a couple to make it more meaningful and personal. They also made it so much fun! There were parts of the ceremony that we didn’t know about it in advance that were really great.”
“I loved getting to dance with my father under the stars, a special dance we had rehearsed since he is an a wheelchair – that was really meaningful to both of us.
“Duncan, the best man, and Amy one of the bridesmaids had to leave their new-born children at home in the US in order to make it, so just their presence was so meaningful.”
