Riviera Maya Trash the Dress

This Riviera Maya trash the dress shoot was an overdue celebration for Paula and Oswald. The Cancunense couple had been married six months when they joined Del Sol Photography for an underwater trash the dress shoot in a cenote. Paula is a wedding coordinator at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya resort, always taking care of brides and grooms and ensuring that their wedding day is magical. We were excited to be able to give Paula and Oswald their own special day and to be able to capture the love between them.

Photographer Polly led the way in this adventure, first in the jungle and in a hidden rocky cove, the sun streaming through the trees overhead creating a phenomenal light. The shoot continued underwater in the cenote, Paula made a gorgeous mermaid in her lacy bridal gown and pink lipstick. Oswald rocked out a pink shirt, the color looks great underwater! Polly captured all the love and sweet touches between the two, the tenderness of the couple was absolutely charming and endearing.

Paula and Oswald were such a super sweet couple, and I absolutely LOVED Paula’s dress! All those layers were so much fun to play with, and underwater it was incredible. I love the way the water just laughs away the laws of gravity, a heavy dress becomes a puff of cotton candy; when the fish get in on the act too it’s just magic! – Polly
