Xoximilco Cancun Surprise Engagement – Wendy and Leo

A surprise engagement at Xoximilco Cancun and we could not be happier for this great couple! We are fortunate to call Wendy and Leo good friends of ours, both these young folks work at Xperiencias Xcaret and have a passion for the beauty of the Riviera Maya and sustainable tourism. Leo called us a few days before to let us in on the secret and invite us to share in the big moment. Sol of course jumped at the chance to capture such a special occasion for our friends, here is the story from her point of view:

Wendy and Leo both work for Experiencias Xcaret Group. Wendy was on vacation and she got a call to record an interview, on her holiday and a Sunday…are you kidding??  She wasn’t very happy about it. Leo called me and told me he was going to propose, I knew I had to be there! So here we are , I arrive saying I wanted to see the park, Wendy is studying, not very happy to be working on her holiday. Leo gives her the instructions and so the interview starts. Leo is asking questions, Wendy is full of information… Leo is kind of shaking, pulling the ring out of his back pocket. The 3rd interview question was: “Wendy… will you marry me?”  Ahhhhh!! Then it was all tears and joy… I’m so emotional seeing these two lovebirds. Ever since I met Wendy I saw the spark, the connection, how perfect they are for each other. Very happy for them!! Later on friends and family joined them and off we went for a Xoximilco tour. Lots of emotions, tears, laughs. Dancing and love wrapped in music under the stars. :)

Apart from having a wonderful evening with friends on this special occasion, it gave us a chance to experience Xoximilco, one of the newest parks from the Xcaret Group. Open less than a year, it’s a recreation of the famous canals in Mexico City with boats called “trajineras“, Mexican cuisine, live music and of course, tequila! It is a wonderful evening of authentic Mexican fun, we can’t wait to go again! Xoximilco has a stunning chapel on the grounds that we foresee becoming a very popular wedding venue, we look forward to capturing events with future brides and grooms, perhaps even Leo and Wendy!
