Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Beach Wedding – Niccole + Gavin
“We love exploring new areas and documenting our adventures with pictures. Each adventure has a unique story, but the experience and ability to travel together is what we feel we are most fortunate for.” #TravelForLove
Niccole and Gavin sum up perfectly why traveling with your loved one enriches your relationship. When you know how travel adventures make your love bonds so much more special a destination wedding was a great choice for these two! They chose a Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Beach Wedding – a beautiful, luxury retreat in Puerto Morelos.
“We feel very fortunate enough to be able to afford to travel and to do so for our wedding. Part of the reason why we wanted to do a destination wedding was the fact we wanted a small and intimate wedding. Additionally, a few years ago we both ended up moving to another state (Oregon) due to job offers. Due to that and our family being spread out throughout the USA, we and/or our guests were going to have to travel. So why not travel to a fun, tropical, and relaxing place? Our answer to that was, yes let’s do it!”
“Our wedding adventure was amazing! We enjoyed spending time with our family and friends who were able to make it out. It was one memory we definitely won’t forget.” – Niccole
Del Sol: We loved that you had a loved one officiate and we LOVED her special “unity box shot”
“I have placed in this box, a pint of whiskey and the love letters I asked you to write. The box is not to be opened until your first fight or your first anniversary, whichever comes first. On that “first occasion” open this box and pour yourself some fire, retreat to different rooms and read your respective love letters. May this exercise keep that fire alive.” – Aunt Shelley
Niccole: “The box was my Aunt Shelly, our officiant’s idea. Both Gavin and I loved it. We aren’t religious nor did we want to mix different colored sand. Thus, she decided that she wanted to surprise us with something.”
“She asked us to write love letters to one another and we weren’t made aware of what would happen with those letters until rehearsal. When she told us about the box. We haven’t opened the box yet and our plan is to make it to our first anniversary.”
Del Sol: You had a lot of cute details and the cat socks and shoes stood out (since dogs seem to get more wedding day love!)
“Yes, most people do have their dogs as part of their special moments. While I love all animals, I am a more partial to the feline variety and while we do intend to get a dog when we get a house, I wanted our whole family to be represented.”
“As much as I would have loved our cat Fergus to actually be there, we decided that the next best thing was to represent him in the small details.”
“When I saw the shoes I wore the day of, I just knew without a doubt that they were going to be the ones I was going to wear on our wedding day. Those shoes sparked my imagination on how we wanted to represent our fur-baby at the wedding. When we were hunting for socks for Gavin to wear the day of as well, we stumbled upon the cat socks and it just seemed perfect and meant to be. I’d have the shoes and he’d have the socks :)”
Del Sol: How was your experience with the del Sol team?
“We loved working with the del Sol team! Joaquin and Polly were professional and fun. They kept us upbeat when we were ready to give up due to the heat.”
Del Sol: What’s your top destination wedding advice?
“Our top destination wedding advice is pick the location that the both of you really want to go to.” – Niccole
“Our overall wedding advice is not to sweat the small stuff. The day goes by really fast and letting those things get in the way of enjoying it, isn’t worth it.”
