Belmond Casa Sierra de Nevada is a cluster of buildings at the Center of the prettiest Mexican Town: San Miguel de Allende. The Belmond is a boutique hotel and always gives me that “I’m home” feeling. Everything is cozy, beautiful and within walking distance from the everything you might want to experience. The Belmond Casa Sierra de Nevada offered me a spectacular place to stay over the weekend in one of my favorite places in the world.

San Miguel de Allende has my heart, for many reasons. The center is a colonial jewel, gorgeous, colorful and historic architecture, stone streets and amazing food. For someone who loves Mexican FolkArt, San Miguel is a shopping Paradise!

What makes the biggest difference to me when I travel are the people who make the experience so lovely.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Belmond Hotel Manager Mr. Pedro Guerrero. He was kind enough to spend some time sharing San Miguel and Belmond Stories with me. He is native to San Miguel and has  a charming personality with the most contagious smile!

All the people under his management are trained to excel at hospitality. Don Gustavo, “El Mayordomo” has been welcoming guests for more that 25 years. He was super sweet, leaving presents and a kind note in my room, so special!

A special thanks has to go to the Chef for spoiling me with delicious food, and sweet deserts :)

Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada, makes for a wonderful Destination Wedding Location. It IS Mexico…

In San Miguel one of the coolest wedding traditions, is to have a “Callejoneada” the day before the wedding. A Callejoneada is like a welcome party, when the bride and groom, followed by a live Band, Mojigangas (giant puppets dressed as bride and groom) and all the guests, walk the streets of San Miguel, finishing the parade at the Main Plaza.

Everytime I go to San Miguel finding a “callejoneada” is such a treat! So much fun and the opportunity to “Crash a wedding”!

I am looking forward to my next visit to San Miguel de Allende and I am calling for couples! “Get married in Casa de Sierra Nevada” “Get Married in Mexico” and of course take us to document the Magic!!
