Destination Wedding – Paradisus Playa del Carmen – Melissa and Michael
“Mike and I traveled to Mexico to exchange our vows because we love the the sun, the sandy beaches and the culture Mexico has to offer. We didn’t want our wedding day to be a typical one day event. We wanted the celebration to last a weekend with the ones we love.” #TravelForLove
Melissa and Michael’s elegant and fun filled wedding was held at Paradisus Playa del Carmen. Family love was the theme of the day – we asked Melissa to tell us more about their destination wedding starting with the words that meant the most to them on their wedding day.
“The part of my vows I thought that were really meaningful was when I told Mike that I did, I do, and I will always chose him. I thought it was funny when I said, “I DO” it wasn’t loud enough but Frank, reassured everyone that I said I do! Everyone laughed.” – Melissa
Melissa: “My sister’s speech was special to me because she mentioned how we are always there to help one another and it meant a lot. Also that night Mike handed me a special note he wrote to me.”
Del Sol: What was the most amazing moment of the day for you?
“The most amazing moment of my day had to be seeing the joy in my father’s smile.” – Melissa
“My dad and my mother love Michael and that day was so special to them to see us together. I’m so lucky to have met a guy who cares for my family just as much as I care for them. I enjoyed seeing everyone enjoy themselves.”
“Mike and I were also very happy his brother, his best man Frank was able to make it to the wedding. He had a new born baby and wasn’t sure if he was going to make it.”
How was your experience with the Del Sol team?
“What can I say about Debora, I love her! She was sweet and funny, everyone at the party loved her and had good thing to say about her. When we took our cenote pictures she made us feel so comfortable. She felt like family and I hope to see her in the future. I just wish we took more pictures around the resort the day of the wedding but I think we got a little carried away with the party!”
Del Sol: How did you come to choose Paradisus Playa Del Carmen for your destination wedding?
“We picked the Paradisus Playa del Carmen because after visiting many resorts we believed that they were going to provide us with the best service to please our guests.”
“We loved the food, how well kept the place is and how staff are all out to be at your service. Araceli was in charge of all our wedding planning. She was always there to listen and helped us make some decisions. Perla from Alquimia was our decode and florist and she by far provided us with every request. I was happy with how everything turned out.”
Del Sol: What’s your top destination wedding advice?
Melissa: “My top advice is to not stress the little things. When your having a destination wedding it’s hard to make sure everything is included. There’s always going to be something you wish you could have done differently. But the most important thing is that on that one night you let everything go. Just enjoy the moment because it’s over pretty quickly and you want to make sure you capture every moment that is important and counts.”
