Destination Wedding at the Royal Playa del Carmen – Elyse and Geoffrey
Destination weddings are a time to bring the people you love all together to share a beautiful location. In the case of the Riviera Maya, margaritas optional and Mariachi band a must! That’s the big picture, But what about all the little details to worry about before hand? Elyse and Geoffrey offered up this advice:
We learned that we needed to relax a bit and take it all in. It was a once in a lifetime experience that we wanted to remember. We also learned that even when things do not go perfect, it is still the “perfect day”. We would tell another couple to chill a bit and not worry too much about the details. The staff (at the Royal Hotel In Playa del Carmen) does great work the last week/few days leading up to the wedding. We would also say, “DO NOT WORK ON WEDDING RELATED THINGS THE FEW DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING!!!!” Get everything done in advance and relax a little.
Elyse and Geoffrey planned a first look to ease the tensions. Then when the moment came, they felt it was WAY more intense than they could have imagined. In Geoff’s words, he felt “hiiiiiighhh”. We love first looks for a couple great reasons: They give the couple a great chance to see each other without the crowd, where we can capture wonderful photos of the surprise of seeing each other and the special connection they only have with each other.
One of our favorite parts of the wedding was the Hora at the reception. This traditional dance where they lift up the newlywed couple is always a blast and always makes for fun photographs. Mazel Tov!
