IN NATURE we find the magical connection with the whole.

I had the honor to meet and document the art of Gabriel Forestieri: a freediver underwater dancer. The result of this meeting is definitively one of my favorite underwater FineArt Projects ever.

Going beyond images, Gabriel’s message is profound. I wanted to make sense of experiencing his art, so I asked him questions: What is nature for you? His heart opened and he gave me the most profound definition of  the connection with the whole as I interpreted as “ONENESS” – Sol – Riviera Maya Mexico #Aworldofitsown

“Oneness” – The connection with the whole. – MOVEMENT INVENTION PROJECT

“The journey of being alive happens in connection and interaction with other souls and “things.””

“ALWAYS. There is something or someone next to you that makes your experience possible. Water is a bonding element, it embraces us, the pressure feels like that. It holds you, it makes you feel the magic of life.”

“It amazes me how universe works, and aligns people in the same vibration. From some time to now, I have made up my heart. I want to create “Healing Art.” I want to co-create pieces of art that go deep into someone’s heart and soul. – Sol Tamargo

At Del Sol Photography, we have always embraced the element of water. I always enjoy taking our clients on a spiritual experience embracing the elements in every kind of way. Gabriel message left me speechless.  The message is so true and so perfect for all of mankind.

GRACIAS Gabriel Forestieri from “Project Limb” for connecting with me. I saw your soul and art, I listened to its profound beauty. I felt your sensitivity and I am humbled to contribute to this project. – Sol

Location: The amazing CENOTES of the Riviera Maya Mexico#Aworldofitsown

Behind the scenes

How we did this?

Mother Nature provided the most incredible location: the magical cenotes of the Riviera Maya.  We dove into the cavern to reach this amazing spot called “The Sugar Bowl.” We then took off our tanks after surfacing from a few hundred meter dive and were alone in this opening in the middle of the jungle, inaccessible to any other human.

Safety diver Jose Luis Saenz looked after me underwater. I learnt during my Catrina Sirena project that when I am focusing on documenting an event I might forget to check my air! I dove the whole time, Gabriel took off his scuba diving gear to freedive and start the dance.

To document all aspects of the experience I was changing between photo and video settings. I had two powerful LED lights attached to my housing.

Gear bag:

Canon 5d Mark III
Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L
Nauticam housing
X2 Keldan Luna 8 LED lamps mounted on housing
