Love and fun busting out of every on of Erica and Cris’ wedding photos. They laughed and cried their way though their wedding ceremony – and then jumped in the pool! Erica was kind enough to talk us through the emotional rollercoaster of their wedding day.
Del Sol: We love that you were both a mixture of crying and laughing all the way through the ceremony! How did you feel in that moment?
“Well you know we can be silly and have a good time, however at the same time as we are FINALLY getting married it hit how real it truly was.” – Erica
“Our small core group of friends and family that have been there with us through our relationship journey. Walking down the aisle with my dad, not having my mom and older sister there, watching my daughter and son be apart, feeling so blessed to be loved by so many. So many emotions.”
Del Sol: We love that your children could be a part of your wedding!
“Our kids are the most important to us and involving them and having them be apart of the wedding made it that more special. Our kids will have those memories forever of when mommy and daddy got married.” – Erica
Del Sol: We also love that your officiant was a friend
“Our friend Ralph is just a stand up guy! He is loyal, He is a man of god, he is fun loving and his words are encouraging and from the heart. There was no doubt in our minds when we choose him.”
Del Sol: Tell us about jumping in the pool!
“To be honest I don’t remember how it all started. But Jaime does not miss an opportunity to have a good time and to make a statement and put himself out there. He is so fun loving and ready to have a good time.
“I knew Jaime would get in the pool, but to see every single person at our wedding get in – that was epic!” – Erica
Del Sol: How was your experience with the del Sol team?
“Absolutely wonderful we couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to work with.”
Del Sol: Why did you decide on a destination wedding?
“We did not want a big wedding. We wanted to be surrounded by our immediate family and our closest friends and with a destination wedding you can make a vacation out of it as well as celebrate our wedding.”
Del Sol: Why did you choose Grand Velas?
“We had been to a wedding in Playa Del Carmen last November. Jaime remembers driving by Grand Velas because of the white walls and how grand it was. When we got home we researched the hotel and fell in love. So when it was time to choose a hotel we knew that the place with the white walls was where we were going to get married.”
“The Grand Velas hotel staff and our wedding coordinator made us feel like VIP’s the whole week. They were very accommodating to us our kids and our guests and always did things with a smile.”
Del Sol: What’s your top destination wedding advice?
“Don’t be afraid to ask for help from the hotel. No matter how big or small it may seem any time I needed help with anything I turned to my wedding coordinator and she always had an answer.”
