So when our Destination Planner, Jesse Denis of Travel By Design, showed me the website to Nizuc…I instantly fell in love! Nizuc had 3 infinity pools and Asian inspiration, in addition to being an easy commute for our guests.”

Tatiana and Wayne’s wedding – where to start! A gorgeous couple and a ton of great details. There’s fun, beauty and love in every picture! We asked Tatiana to give us the inside scoop on her amazing wedding day.
Del Sol: So we have to start with the star of the show (sorry Tatiana) your dog Gizmo! Talk to us about including him in your day and BEING A WITNESS!!! Cutest wedding idea ever!
Tatiana: “I’m really offended by this! I was supposed to be the star! J LOL, just kidding.”
“Gizmo is not an ordinary pet dog, he’s our fur-baby. Wayne bought Gizmo when he was a few months old and he helped Wayne get through a few bad break-ups.”
“When I came into the picture, I fully understood that Wayne and Gizmo were a package deal! We really wanted our fur-baby to be in the wedding, so it was another confirmation that we found the perfect venue when we saw that Nizuc welcomed pets!”
“Once we told Pastor Chris Carballo that we wanted to include Gizmo in the ceremony, he suggested that we make Gizmo our witness and include his paw prints on the marriage certificate. We loved the idea!”
Del Sol: We also have to talk about your first look – can you explain how Wayne ended up on the ground please?!!
Tatiana: “LOL, Wayne on the ground was an inside joke! The week before our wedding P.Diddy made a viral statement at the Met Gala as he laid on the ground and posed while his girlfriend took pictures with the paparazzi. So all weekend of the wedding, I would drop down to the ground and pose like Diddy.”
“Little did I expect Wayne to turn the tables on me and drop down during our first look! I was totally surprised that he would join in on my antics!”
Del Sol: Awesome cake too – I think that’s the first upside down wedding cake we photographed – could you tell us about that topsy turvy decision?
Tatiana: “I’m not really big on sweets/dessert, and Wayne likes to watch his “girl-ish” figure. So having a wedding cake wasn’t a big deal for us. But in true “Tatiana fashion”, I wanted to do things differently. When I saw pictures of chandelier cakes on Pinterest, I thought it was a perfect tie in to match the chandeliers in our reception décor. I sent pictures to the Pastry Chef at Nizuc and she was excited to build my cake as this would be her first topsy turvy cake!”
Del Sol: How was your experience with the Del Sol Team?
Tatiana: “The team were phenomenal. They were totally professional and very easy to work with.”
“I love that Martina wasn’t afraid to take risk while taking our photos. She was like a ninja…climbing on the edge of the infinity pool and balancing in uncomfortable positions to get the perfect shot.”
“I also like that she directed the entire shoot. She gave very clear directions to me, the videographer and everyone to ensure we all captured what we needed. True professionals with a passion for their work!”
“Also, we heard that Gizmo ran away during the photos and ended up at another building on the resort… we need more details from Martina’s Assistant about what really happened!!!” (Gizmo made a break for it but was literally stopped by Nizuc security and brought back safely by the wedding coordination team!)
Del Sol: There is a lot to love about Nizuc, but why did you choose it for your wedding?
“I can honestly say that the service at Nizuc was the best service we have ever received. We’ve travelled all over the world so our expectations are high!” – Tatiana
“I love that Nizuc allowed complete customization, unlike most all-inclusive resorts in Cancun that boast cookie-cutter weddings. When I told them I wanted to get married on top of the infinity pool, they accommodated me despite never having done a ceremony on top of the pool before.”
“While the resort is pricey, it was well-worth every penny! The rooms are spectacular, the resort is breathtaking, the food was phenomenal. They even catered to Gizmo bringing him his own private bed and bowl!”
“While the entire staff at Nizuc was truly hospitable, our coordinator Marcela was truly an angel!”
“Not only was she thorough and accommodating, but she was extremely pleasant to work with and her smile is contagious. Marcela understood my vision, and worked extremely hard to make it all come to life. We are forever grateful to her.”
