Sol was inspired by the four elements and their connection with the Star of David to create Michelle and Yoni’s elopement experience. The cenote wedding ceremony was designed around the Elemental Star concept, and the video tells of a unique encounter: two souls that together become one, with the Star of David’s voice as the storyteller.

A Spiritual Elopement in the Tulum Jungle

Del Sol: Why did you decide on a Tulum Jungle cenote wedding?

Michelle: “We knew our love was ancient from the moment we met. Too familiar to have just met in this lifetime. We have twin language, we see the world the same, our brains amalgamate and filter and process the world the same. We had to honor our love in a way that paid respect and ode to this, it had to be in the most ancient place we could access. A cenote within a cave used for spiritual ceremonies in the beginning of civilization and consecrated by the first people is the most ancient ground that exists.

Del Sol: What is the challenge of becoming 1, when you’re from different backgrounds?

M: It never has been a challenge. I wish I could say it has been a challenge so that the majority in this world would look at us and be comforted in their own efforts of their relationships. But ours has been and continues to be effortless. We cannot offer comfort, only inspiration and hope.

Our backgrounds while completely different, made us the same… or were we born into this world this way as one soul? – Michelle

Even our zodiac signs, while different, are the same – Virgo & Scorpio. Look them up! The belief passed down from the most spiritual and ancient part of Judaism, Kabbalah, teaches that every Jewish soul has been Jewish from the beginning – there will never be any more or any less, the number remains the same. As you are reborn each lifetime, your life circumstances may place you into another circumstance to learn whatever you need to learn but you will always find your way back to Judaism. Converts have always been counted in that original number as they were present when Moses gave the 10 commandments, thus their souls have always been Jewish upon birth. Learning this explained what I knew in my spirit but couldn’t explain. To say any of this was a challenge is dishonest…it was the most natural thing I’ve ever experienced, it was like coming home.

Yoni: the hardest part was finding Michelle.

Del Sol: What is your LOVE wish for other couples?

Yoni: I wish for every human to experience 1/10 of the love, joy and purity that comes with finding and holding onto the chaotic blessing of that which we all search for our entire lives. Love at this magnitude is once in a lifetime. I wouldn’t settle and today I’m living the life I couldn’t dream up for myself.

I want others to feel the peace that comes with unconditional love – Michelle

Michelle: That type of love comes around once in a lifetime. It intrinsically changes your core and rocks your foundation, bringing with it a boundless strength you could not have developed on your own. This type of love gives you reason to be your best you, you can’t help yourself but to love and grow and be better because you look at your inspiration incarnate every single day for the rest of your life and thank God that you get to and want to live and walk by their side and love them how they need to be and want to be loved.

It is my life’s honor to be this for my soulmate. I can’t help but want to be better, it’s humbling to grow and be my best self for another unconditionally. It reveals things in me that needed to heal and are healing. Which gives me lighter countenance and more capacity to love on the world. My wish is that all could the chance to be fully changed and shaped by unconditional true love as it is so chaotically beautiful and disruptive that you cannot truly be your best self without your life mirror reflecting back those hidden places and bringing light to them.
