Viceroy Riviera Maya Weddings
The Viceroy Riviera Maya – The definition of boutique luxury
All Viceroy hotels are pure luxury and every on is unique is unique. They are set naturally into their surroundings and embrace the local culture. The Viceroy Riviera Maya is in the heart of Mexico’s Caribbean coast. Resting on seven miles of white sand beach, the Viceroy Riviera Maya blends seamlessly into the jungle. Luxury amenities are effortlessly blended with a relaxed vibe and local Mayan influences.
Though the Viceroy Rivera Maya location is exclusive, it’s also conveniently placed. Just 45 minute drive from the Cancun airport and only 20 minutes from downtown Playa del Carmen and 45 minutes from the beaches or Mayan ruins of Tulum. If you’re feeling more adventurous, the Viceroy concierge recommends an aerial tour of the famous Chichen Itza ruins, a 50-minute private plane ride.
Adults-Only, All-Suites
The Viceroy Rivera Maya is an adults-only, “all-suites” resort. They have no guests under 14 years old and instead of traditional rooms there are private suite villas, each with their own butler. There are 41 private villas with 7 varieties.
Each villa has a private terrace, plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers (yes they’re very private as well.) Suites are either hidden in the jungle foliage or open up to ocean views. Each suite is nestled into the jungle in a way that guarantees privacy and intimacy for all guests, you feel like you are the only ones there. The feeling of seclusion combined with the Viceroy’s wealth of features makes it one of the most romantic resorts in the Mexican Caribbean.

The Library Lounge includes a living room and patio extending off La Marea where you can enjoy cocktails, cigars, deserts and more.
With such a rich history of food and drink in Mexico, the Viceroy offers ways to experience it to the fullest. Participate in cooking and cocktail-making classes or Tequila and ceviche tastings. They also have themed dining events, such as the “Chef’s Table”, a multi-course tasting meal, beach BBQ, poolside paella and street food night. If you’re looking for a more intimate dining experience, the Viceroy can set up a candle-lit beach or pier dinner.
Ultimately, our clients say it all about their experience at Viceroy. Here is one testimonial that stands out in our mind:
Aaron and I went to the Viceroy in April 2014 as a vacation just before we were going to move in together. He felt the same peace, spiritual connection and love and appreciation for the place and its people as I did. The Viceroy setting, its welcome cleansing, and its spa ritual packages added to that feeling for us.
We decided a Mayan ceremony for just the two of us was a great way to celebrate the people and place while spiritually giving ourselves to one another. It was our way to show each other our commitment to the relationship and our love was real and forever, just the two of us, in a way that meant most to us. So, when we decided to get legally married, we thought what a great place to do it. We can return to the Viceroy on the 1 year anniversary of our original commitment and have a traditional ceremony for our family and share with them the spiritual Mayan ceremony we had chosen for ourselves.
