Xcaret Baptism – St. Francis of Assisi Chapel

“We chose to come back to Mexico because it’s part of my ancestry. My parents are from Yucatán and have descendants of Mayan ancestry, that’s why we choose to name our daughter Maya.” – Cindy

We are privileged to be invited to document the most important moments of peoples’ lives. The wedding day is one such milestone, and the way we meet most of our clients. We are beyond honored when our couples feel part of the Del Sol family and return, as legacy clients and allow us to continue being a part of their family story. This is the story of Cindy and Abram, who invited us to document their daughter’s Xcaret baptism.

Cindy and Abram not only kept their wedding photographer, they also returned to their wedding venue for Maya’s Xcaret Baptism!

Cindy and Abram’s wedding was 5 years before Maya’s Xcaret baptism. We were interested to know if they felt any changes in their Mexico tourist experience between 2013 and 2018. With the negative press and travel advisories surrounding Mexico we were interested to hear their point of view.

“We believe there is crime everywhere, but we always think the media covers the bad stuff to make ratings. Some relatives of ours did mention their concerns about danger in Mexico. We answered we always feel safe in Playa del Carmen and while we were there, unfortunately there was another school shooting in the states. Many things have changed since our last visit: new parks and attractions. We can’t wait to go again!”
