Kelly and Matthew’s wedding is literally FULL of smiles! The happiness and love of friends and family jumps out of every single picture. From a family member officiant performing the ancient wedding tradition of hand fasting to the inscriptions inside their rings we loved all the details.

“The engraving inside our wedding rings comes from the song ‘This must be the place’. It was originally by Talking Heads in the 1980s but was recently remade by Iron and Wine and is our wedding song.”

“The song is about love being a “Home” and that the simple act of being together and sharing time with each other is the number one place we’d like to be. Love isn’t always a grandiose display but rather a connection between two people that just want to spend time together and build a home both literally and figuratively.”

“Neither one of us had ever been to or any of our families really been a part of a destination wedding. Although we live in Pittsburgh currently for our medical training, we didn’t feel that much connection to it to get married here. Kelly is from Iowa, which would make things a little difficult to plan a wedding across the country for us.”
