Rainy day Wedding at Paradisus La Esmeralda – Michelle and Bryan
My Son Bryan & Daughter in Love Michelle:
As your mother, I only want you to be happy. Happy with each other, with your family, and with your friends. All are instrumental in smoothing the long bumpy road we call life.

Michelle and Bryan wedding at the luxurious Paradisus La Esmeralda was a dream come true for this lovely couple from Canada. They first traveled to Mexico together as friends and it was on that trip they discovered something more between them. When they got home they began to date, travel together and fall in love. It was on a beach in the Dominican Republic that Bryan popped the question so it had to be a beach wedding to get married!
Michelle had the unique experience of winning her bridal gown in a contest sponsored by the Hudson Bay Co. in Canada. She was flown to New York City and had her pick of gowns from Kleinfeld’s, the boutique made famous on “Say Yes to the Dress”. As a self-proclaimed “fashionista” working in the fashion industry, it was a fantasy!
A little rain on the big day brought the ceremony indoors to the La Palapa restaurant, but you would never know it was not the original plan. Wedding coordinator Evelin Lopez of Paradisus Resorts worked together with Veronica Heng of event planners Oui Design Co. to ensure that each detail was in place and gorgeous, the all white decor was elegant and romantic and La Palapa cozy and intimate.
With her unique brooch bouquet in hand and her bridesmaids beside her, Michelle walked down the aisle and joined her husband in an emotional ceremony. After some rainy portraits in and around the striking architecture of the resort, the party kicked into gear in the Gabi Club.
Photo booth fun, moving speeches, a serenade by the groom and a “money dance”, this was a fiesta the bride and groom and their guests will never forget. Instead of clinking glasses for a kiss, guests had to perform a dance for the couple, what a great idea!
We love how the staff at Paradisus seamlessly moved a beach wedding inside to avoid the rain, no big deal, in fact we believe rain on your wedding day is awesome!
