Persian Wedding Rosewood Mayakoba – Sayeh and Pedram
This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet – Rumi

Sayeh and Pedram chose the organic style for their Persian Garden Wedding Rosewood Mayakoba. A ‘real’ Persian wedding is not a quiet affair! It should be an event full of feasting, merrymaking and celebrated “with glory and distinction”. As if we were not already spoilt with all the details of the day Sayeh and Pedram brought their cute pup Coco along as a cute furry little groomsman.

We adore all the ‘sweet’ touches during the aghd (wedding ceremony). Sayeh and Pedram fed each other candies, symbolizing feeding each other sweetness and sustenance throughout their lives together. Happily married women guests took turns rubbing sugar cones, Kalleh Ghand, above Sayeh and Pedram, showering them in sweetness. We love to take note of wedding traditions from different cultures and the Persian customs have survived for many millennia dating back to 2000BC. Of course the most important traditions are of course fun, joy, and love, which never fall out of fashion ;)

Of course the ceremony itself is only half of the story, no Persian wedding would be complete without an incredible mehmoonee (reception). Fireworks, a surprise birthday cake for one of their guests and so much dancing that Sayeh repeatedly attacked her wedding dress with scissors to turn it into a more party friendly gown – now THAT is the sign of a great party!
