Playa del Carmen Wedding – Paradisus La Esmeralda – Emily and Casey
“We knew we wanted an intimate and fun wedding where we could have more than just a ceremony. We wanted a whole celebration and that’s what we got!” #TravelForLove
“I was very undecided about doing a first look. Casey thought it would be a great idea and ultimately talked me into it. We both thought we could calm each others nerves before the ceremony and we were right! I was so emotional after a day full of getting ready and realizing it was actually happening, everything we had planned for the past year was coming to an end -but yet starting our wonderful beginning as a married couple. I was definitely much more calmed when I got to see him before the ceremony.” – Emily
“As I walked down the aisle something came over me . Between seeing a few of our family members tear up out of the corner of my eye and seeing everyone you love looking at you and your love.”
“I was more emotional being in the moment walking down the aisle than I was when I saw Casey at the first look. I don’t feel the first look took anything away from the moment, if anything it made it even more special to have a few moments together alone before.” – Emily
“Having known each other for about 10 years we enjoyed the fact in our vows. We both brought up adventure and being partners and team mates, being each other’s best friends. We also both talked about hard times and good times – both of which we have tackled this far. Casey is a far more eloquent writer.”
“I was quite nervous writing vows but both of ours came from the heart- which was the best of all.” – Emily
“I wore a tribute charm on my bouquet for my best friend Jenny. She passed away in 2007. Since then, starting with my other best friend Emily, each one of our group of friends has used this charm in their weddings. Our group of friends was very close and most of us still are. It’s a nice sweet reminder that a guardian angel is looking over you. I was lucky enough that her mom and dad were able to attend the wedding in Mexico as well, it was very touching to me that they made the trip out!”
“Our experience with the Valeria and the del Sol team was wonderful! Valeria is so sweet, has a great eye and really easy going. If we wanted a photo – or she thought we wanted one, they were totally okay with taking a photo.”
“It can be a bit worry some not knowing or having a relationship with your photographer before hand. However, Valeria and Joaquin made us feel comfortable right away. They were easy going and they were so awesome with the venue, knowing good places to take photos and really taking photos of what they thought we would enjoy.” – Emily
“We have always been adventurous. We’ve traveled to 9 countries in the last few years while living abroad in London. A fun week with family and friends with a wedding thrown in the middle was the most perfect situation for us. After searching all of Playa Del Carmen, we settled on the Paradisus because we loved the rooms and the photos we saw. We read a million reviews about the food which was super important to us. everyone was speaking very highly of it. We were not let down, the whole resort is beautiful, it’s beautifully manicured, the people are so sweet and caring. Everyone we worked with was great, Lucero was amazing as well as her assistant Eliza.”
“The most important lesson I learned from our wedding is you cannot control everything. Everything will happen but not perfectly. Expect the unexpected and you won’t be let down. If you’re not sure about doing a destination wedding – do it! The best and most fun you’ll have with everyone you love and that loves you!” – Emily
