18 Times Wedding Photographers Knew They’d Captured Something Amazing
Family weddings are hard. Nearly impossible as your years of pro experience and concentration is blown, your anticipation factor is lost, your ability to disconnect and observe is challenged to say the least. When you don a camera for a family wedding, all you want to do is talk to your cousin, smile and laugh with your auntie or hug the neck of your grandmother after your father pushes her down the isle in a wheelchair.
Every photographer wishes and dreams for their pictures to be recognized. The end game is that photo lives on through this recognition, be it an international award or a publication in a major news outlet. When I got the news that this photo scored a FIRST PLACE in a photojournalism contest… I couldn’t believe it. I was honored and feel very lucky to be able to memorialize my late grandmother this way, it is the highest honor a wedding photo can get!
A few years ago at a family wedding, my dear grandmother (Cora Lee Adcock) casually walked in front of her great-granddaughter’s wedding dress for a lipstick adjustment. In this moment, I made a photographic memory that will forever serve as a legacy for me and my family. She was 92 when I took this photo and sadly she passed away the next year. The photo was later honored with a 1st Place Award by the International Society Of Professional Wedding Photographers for the category of “Wedding Dress” – Matt
Bride’s Heartbreaking Photos Show What Love Looks Like After Loss

Janine’s story became international news last year, appearing across hundreds of news sites, channelsd and papers in a variety of languages. Her tragic story led her to seek closure, which turned it into a story of hope and healing that inspired people around the world. There was outpouring of support for her and it became an outlet for people to share similar stories, helping them heal and bringing them all closer together. Funny Wedding Photos: 21 Epic Photobombs
Everyone loves a good photobomb and what better opportunity to catch a good one than a wedding? For their list of epic photobombs, they used one of our most popular viral photos at the feature. It sees a groomsman taking an accidental dive off a pier behind the unknowing couple.
I like to reference photobombs as HAPPY ACCIDENTS as everything shouldn’t be taken so seriously… I am LMAO looking at these shots ;) – Matt

Wedding Trailblazers: Del Sol Photography’s “Adam and Eve” Shoots Show the Sexier Side of Couples
HuffPost Weddings are celebrating unique and innovative ideas in the wedding world, spotlighting wedding-industry professionals doing creative new things. A big moment for our studio was when Huffington Post named us a “Wedding Trailblazer” for our “Adam & Eve” photo shoots back in 2013.

The Del Sol photo included was of Marrisa and Jon, who were surprised by a bit of jungle rain on their photo shoot. It didn’t bother them, especially since they were going under water anyway. Plus it resulted in a photo of one epic kiss!

The stylish movie made fashion look back at the fashion of the Roaring Twenties, with it inspiring many themed events and parties. HuffPo included two of our photos, the one shown in the gallery her is from the wedding of Savi and Robert, with Savi sitting elegantly in a vintage Rolls Royce.
