Kids at weddings… sometimes a controversial topic, some brides are eager to have the smallest family members share in the big day, while others prefer a more adult atmosphere. As destination wedding photographers we are always delighted to find children enjoying these special days, they bring their own brand of magic and authenticity and quite often steal the show. Flower girls in their finest, living their princess dreams, shy ring bearers who need a little push to get down the aisle, laughing babies, toddlers napping through all the brouhaha, each child adds a little spark to the day.

The one sure thing about having kids at weddings is that you will always be surprised by their antics, their exuberance and energy are unpredictable and brings us some fabulous photojournalistic moments to capture forever.

It’s pretty darned cool to see how the little ones have such a handle on technology now, we see them coming up behind us as future photographers with each photo they snap with their own digital cameras or phones! Seeing the world through their eyes reminds us to bring out our own inner children and see the world with wonder through our lenses.

Nose pickers, eye rollers, sand kickers, dance floor twirlers, funny face makers and photo bombers, gotta love all of them with their juice-stained smiles and pockets full of shells and sand. They always make us laugh and give us moments of “awwwwww” that are irresistible.
