They knew there would be a sign from above. Having a micro ceremony at Secrets Maroma with a select group of guests and close friends and family is one of the most recommended types of ceremonies these days by our clients. Secrets Maroma has one of the most magical beaches in all of the region.
Instead of arriving at a ceremony, they arrived to an epic rainbow in light fleeting rain. A Fernando waited for Mystique, the sky lit up with one of the most unbelievable backgrounds, and everyone was in awe of the Caribbean Ocean looked. Instead of walk down the aisle, we had an impromptu “First Look” under the rainbow. Then they carried on with the ceremony.
Rain can happen…and on most instances we find it brings people together. We have featured photos from this Riviera Maya wedding at Secrets Maroma on our post “Why Rain on the wedding day is awesome”

The Secrets Maroma resort sits on what has been voted one of the top beaches in the world, an ideal location for a beach wedding. Mystique wore a gown by Allure Bridals that showed off her figure and had an incredible full skirt and carried a vibrant pink bouquet. For a First look, it was appropriate in front of a Rainbow.
The sky may have been cloudy, but it blessed the couple with a huge rainbow for their portrait session on the beach. The micro ceremony took place under the gazebo at Secrets Maroma with a ring of palm trees…
The bride’s father was very emotional as he gave her away, a moving moment that all in attendance will remember. The bride’s brother was the videographer of the day and the conversation about the weather and the sky was a theme. We couldn’t believe how a dark sky and rain could look so beautiful.
We embrace the rain, after all if anyone every asks us “what happens if it rains on our wedding day” our answer is always that we hope to see a rainbow. And actually, the rain acts as a cleanse and is so refreshing as it also brings down the temperatures.
We are thankful to Mystique and Fernando for inviting us to share in your special family wedding. We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together. There were so many special and personal endearing moments among the family. Everyone was so close and we believe the rain actually helped make this a tighter ceremony. This photo of her father made an appearance in our blog post about Brides and Grooms with their Fathers featured.
