Trash the Dress Photography experiences has been at the heart of what we do since 2005 – a lot has changed in that time! What started as taking a bride in a beautiful dress to an amazing and unexpected location has evolved into so much more.

Del Sol co-founders Matt and Sol were the first photographers to photograph couples underwater in the cenotes. Their amazing images sparked the world wide underwater wedding photography trend. Huffington Post called us “Wedding Trailblazers” for our innovations with underwater photography and the sexy “Adam and Eve” Trash the Dress.

Now we’re designing whole weddings around the concept of getting your wedding dress wet. We even had couples who decided to do a Trash the Dress INSTEAD of a wedding!

Over the years we’ve refined our techniques, and our gear bag. A Trash the Dress does not have to be underwater – but most of our couples are drawn to the underwater photography. We have multiple underwater lighting set-ups, multiple underwater camera housings and a LOT of tricks up our sleeve so you look amazing underwater, even if you can’t swim.

Apart from the mind-blowing imagery, the experience is actually the most wowzers part. Any trash the dress involving underwater photography is a half-day adventure, minimum. And grooms – don’t worry – it’s not the half day photoshoot you’re dreading. It’s often a moment for the 2 of you, apart from the wedding week madness. Some couples told us they feel like movie stars with the smoke and light and beauty around them. Others that it was an amazing exercise in working together and cooporation. What’s sure is that it’s a really fun thing to do with a beautful dress that you’ll likely never wear again.
